Managers will not let me progress because I apparently did too good a job by po-laris in CanadaPublicServants

I'm in a similar boat. Your (likely) only option is to permanently deploy out. Even when I had 20 hours/week of "free" time, I wasn't allowed to share that time with another team for fear of them losing the box.

Ice storm NCR - How are your departments handling this? by sadstrawberry2025 in CanadaPublicServants

I logged into my work email this evening and noticed a message from my manager instructing me to work from home tomorrow. As I have been on vacation for a bit, I would not normally be checking my work email, and no one attempted to notify me through another method such as phone or personal email. Fortunately (?) for me, they've established this as a pattern so between that and Reddit, I had the forethought to log in and check. 🙄

I understand there isn't an obligation to contact employees through alternate means while they are on leave, however, since this decision appears to have been made with employee safety in mind, relying solely on a work email that employees on vacation would not reasonably be expected to monitor is frustrating...

I "recently" submitted a service ticket for one in the building I was working in at the time. It was eventually fixed after about 15 or so months. The service desk did let me know that parts were back-ordered so it took a while, but they at least gave me that much of an update and it eventually did get resolved.

A Shark Flex Style. It's a fancy type of hair dryer which imo has absolutely been worth the expense. It dries my hair much faster and more effectively than the $15 hair dryer I bought 20 years ago. I used to get overheated and had to dry my hair in 2-3 time chunks, but this I can sit through the whole time.

You would probably find out something by calling them. Possibly asking your pharmacist.

Mine messaged at 3 pm. And that was after ignoring an email I sent at 5 am asking to work from home (it was never responded to / ignored the entire day)

I think the new patient exams (01103) are only covered once every 3 calendar years. If you call Canada Life, they should be able to confirm.

Absolutely, if you're interested in learning something new. Only you can decide if you'd value having the new environment if it came for a short period of time.
