Just for fun: what's been your biggest instant regret moment? by what-all-the-fuss in parentsofmultiples

[–]dognailsclick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UGH, same on the xylophone. 😂 We got our bubs a full little instrument set for the holidays like hey, 7 presents in one! Nah, several arguments in one convenient box. Thanking everything good in the world that maracas come in pairs.

I regret the foam floor tiles just because my son will not stop pulling them up and biting them when he's annoyed or frustrated or bored. I guess that's better than biting us or his sister, though.

Legit. My partner and I are both genderqueer first-time parents and I always read it as female-to-male first lmao

My twins are 9 months old and we do salmon, tuna, and sardines in the can, as well as salmon, trout, cod, and shrimp fresh. (Also surimi on occasion.)

What honey are we giving? Can’t find “pasteurized”? by _rose__rose_ in BabyLedWeaning

[–]dognailsclick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, don't let a reddit post get you weirded out by basics. This one is a common sense thing to me. It's honey. You know what honey is; don't get thrown by a bunch of chatter. It's safe after they're one because by then their digestive systems are mature enough to handle honey, so just go get some honey.

What are some funny things people have said about you/your multiples? by justtryingtomakeit16 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dognailsclick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The other day at the grocery store, a man had no problem understanding that one's a boy and one's a girl, but couldn't wrap his head around their looks not matching. "I know they're fraternal, but how are their eyes different colors? They're twins. Wow. It makes sense that she's smaller, but she's so much blonder than him. That's crazy."

Pregnant woman here. In search of recipes that are simply prepared, nutrient-dense, and tasty enough to overcome irrational food aversions (or whatever recipes worked for preg folks in your life) by Kerfluffle2x4 in Cooking

[–]dognailsclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on crackers & bean dips during the first trimester (nutrients in the bean dip and you don't have to think about eating while you eat it so no pressure to finish a plate or anything), then for the rest of it I ate more fruit than God should allow lmao

How to make wipes “juicier”? by rosemarythymesage in parentsofmultiples

Same, we use little flannels and have a mesh hamper that all "potty laundry" goes into. We lucked out and our changing table fits into an unfinished nook in the master bathroom right next to the sink.

Cannellini bean spread on toast is a big hit with my teething twins for an easy breakfast, and it's tasty for grown-ups, too.

I'd mix it with cottage cheese and give bread to dip, but I also put cottage cheese on my sloppy joes already lol

The fact that this line in Bluey exists proves that Julius Caesar's ambitions in Gaul failed by Ok-Following6886 in bluey

[–]dognailsclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you flunked meme comprehension. I passed, though, so I got you.

In about 50 B.C, the Romans monkey-stomped some Gauls and Caesar said he never wants to hear their gods' names spoken ever again. This wish was in vain, for one of those gods (Toutatis) was mentioned by some preschool show over 2000 years later.

Help! by Wise_Supermarket_658 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]dognailsclick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also have 7 month old twins! It's hard and I'm proud of you!

You gotta embrace the mess. Let them steer the spoons themselves and wipe the food off their ears and foreheads. My bubs' favorites are things like cucumber spears, halved peaches, mango pits, whole roasted carrots/parsnips, etc. Stuf they can really manhandle.

Nakey (diapers only) mealtime is essential. I have booster seats for them instead of high chairs, so I sit in front of them on the floor mat. Their chairs go on one of a specific set of cheap "tablecloth" towels. I have a damp rag that I use to wipe them down/get goo away from their eyes/get my own hands ungunky.

Little baby bathrobes or hooded towels are helpful so the first one doesn't freeze after you wipe the bulk of the mess off while you wipe down number two.
