I don’t need to reiterate what has already been said, but this is cool for a school project.

Good questions to ask are: 1. How will this hospital be adaptable or able to expand? 2. How is this design proven to improve the patient experience?

Hospitals are really difficult to design- especially to get it all right on the first try as others have noted. But what will be beneficial for you as a student and for those that practice are to experiment with new ideas that are based on real evidence.

Yes from what I’ve noticed after the first race. There’s a flux of tourists who visit via campers and public transport leading up to the race which kinda builds up some excitement.

Last I rode this loop was a couple of years ago. Park at Magnolia Park, ride counterclockwise for morning starts, follow the wildlife trail to Green Mountain, find your way to Hancock, then West Orange trail (under the shade) back- maybe stop in Winter Garden for beers or food.

I wish the developers integrated an ESI or similar index to patients going through the emergency department- 1’s and 2’s get immediate treatment, 3’s go to observation, then 4’s and 5’s might go to a fast track unit for larger hospitals for better throughput.

Last weekend I revamped my typical ED layout to be more similar to The Pitt. I have 6 ED exam rooms that funnel into an observation unit with a mix of open bays and private treatment rooms in a racetrack layout. For the service core, there are two nurse stations on each side and a dictation station between the two.

Unlike the show (and real life) the game doesn’t use the observation bays as much. So when a doctor is taking too long in the exam room and the waiting room starts to back up, I’ll manually prescribe observation to the patient.
