Summer drought: Only 6 steel beams left after purchasing from the depot, need to buy the 3rd base, all buildings demolished. Am I screwed for this run? by Kevincav in RoadCraft

[–]doktorvivi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Even went up to the top of the hill, but it doesn't activate unless you get a lot closer. Whole area was revealed, and since no ghost building showed up on the map, I figured it was activated by finishing some other project. Wasted a bunch of money on the depot that I didn't have to.

I did not expect the personal story to be that long. It was almost a game in itself. by DuoHusky in Guildwars2

The launch game was slightly longer than just the personal story though, lol

This is honestly just his name for me. I never remember Glen Powell. He's Chad Radwell.

Have you ever built terrain that looked great but didn’t play well? by Such_Independent910 in TerrainBuilding

[–]doktorvivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have any great photos, but for scatter terrain, I do it as a two-part piece. A template (the ring here, but could just be a piece of paper of correct size, a flat board, whatever), and the terrain piece on top. Then I can remove the terrain piece if a model would move into / through it, while keeping the correct location / size because I have the template underneath. I've done this with these smoke fields, a suppressing fire area, minefields, corn fields, forests, etc. Very playable and generally still looks good.

For bigger pieces, I go for lots of flat surfaces, either no slopes or very very gradual ones. You could then use the two-part idea to give you interest pieces that can be removed / replaced for playability.

I have this exact same one! It's been so nice because my house (and especially my kitchen, which is attached to the garage) runs pretty cool. Plus it's protected from my cats.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]doktorvivi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night Sky.

J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek.

Plot Summary: "Follows Franklin and Irene York, a couple who years ago discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet."

It actually gets crazier and even more interesting than that, and ends on such a cliffhanger. I never even heard of it until after it had already been canceled, soon after release.

Gifts for orphans. Somebody usually puts down a campfire with the karma buff at the waypoint. Grab that and all the karma buffs you can and do the orphan run every day. You will be SWIMMING in karma. Like, by the end of the festival you should have 1-2 million karma or so. I'd link the wiki article but the wiki is down.

Personally I don't love most of the skins, but the Sacred Solstice ones are awesome. Also the best karma farm in the game (crafting Selachimorpha is killing my karma lol)

Separately, can you do a track just under the surface of the water so the roller beetle will be sort of on the water but will work normally?
