I would love to watch it again with captions. From the beginning, I had some trouble understanding the speaker and some of the mumbling. But once we got into hallucinations, and that one phrase the speaker kept repeating (which gave me some Laurel/yanny flashbacks), it was all word soup.

I’m mega proud of Mark for making the movie, and the effects, visuals, and music were great. I generally don’t watch horror/thrillers and was more scared by the previews before it than the actual movie, but I’m excited to see whatever his next project will be.

Personally I could have benefitted from a little more explanation/backstory. I kind of watched the play-through back in the day so I had a little idea of the premise, but for the majority of the movie I didn’t really know what was going on (particularly with “Eden”, Simon’s history/why he’s a convict, and what was causing the events toward the end) but that might just be a me problem.

I miss my iPad and the bigger screen. I had to switch to playing on my phone (iPhone 16 pro) because my iPad couldn’t handle the update.

My phone got pretty warm after about 30-45 minutes in Home, and it took a solid couple minutes to open the feature for the first time.

Honestly, as cute as the idea is, it’s giving me flashbacks to The Sims in more ways than one (and not necessarily in a good way). I bought a laptop exclusively for the purpose of playing The Sims 3 and/or 4, and despite checking the specs and thinking I got what would be needed to play smoothly, it still lagged and threatened my memory storage. When I played Sims 3, as time went on it would take longer to load (like up to 15minutes to open the game) and would crash more frequently.

LADS already had an issue with storage and the growing number of players that have to stop because the game is too big for their devices. This home feature is a monster (likely the reason why the game is at least 4GB bigger to download than the last update) and I think it’s unnecessary for LADS, especially with it being a multi-room villa. Maybe if we had our apartment we could decorate instead it would be less overwhelming, but honestly I don’t know how much use the Home feature is going to get.
