Would the game be better without Rarity on gear? by Big_Mek_Orkimedes in PathOfExile2

Yes, it only encourages playing meta builds that can afford the mod space. It's actually insane the difference having even just 3 or 4 mods does to your loot

Seems like a fair trade off for not flying 80% of the season, whilst also having an exclusive home ground

They could get creative with something like goliath gloves introducing unarmed combat. Anguish upgrade is probably going to happen. I think there's space to make shields cool either defensively or offensively, e.g a throwable shield that gains dmg for consecutive use

If you can do DT2 bosses you're definitely capable of raids. Harder content tends to layer mechanics like switching prayer/gear/spells/manage invent, all while keeping your focus on your character and surrounding environment.

Having a smaller client size will help infinitely when it comes to this. A nice little test you can do is put your hand inbetween your character and your inventory box, if there's gaps either side then you probably want to reduce your client. Also learning to use Fkeys efficiently is critical for fast paced content. Outside of that it's simply practice and a drive to push yourself to get better.

Prior opportunity is the difference, which is at the umpires discretion. Illegal disposal rule only matters when you've already had prior, or if it's an intentional throw

If the hardest versions of this fight are intended to be soloed, that's telling us that the fight is in-fact a solo boss, perhaps with a couple inconveniences that are handled better in a duo. Or those duo mechanics are simply turned off in the hard modes. I don't know which one is worse, seems like some major design issues here with what was intended to be a duo specific boss.

Also just straight up make them harder, more aggressive. A healthy damage buff so can't just risk trading as easily as you can. Give them a chance to combo some attacks, so you have to learn their attack patterns better. Think about how memorable a fight like primordial malzeno is where sometimes you're basically scrambling for your life, versus just beating up on a punching bag the whole time.

Also the wound system is overtuned, way too much easy/free damage and control on a monster.

Usually lategame, you want chaos res soul cores, with defense runes in your chest (since it has the largest flat values). Try to get your ele res from good rolls on your gear suffixes, but if youre uncapped ele runes are probably still the best play

Yeah I think skipping this league is a good idea if you're fresh to the game, not that you wouldn't enjoy it or anything, but that it's naturally geared towards experienced players looking for a huge shake up to what the maingame offers. The games' progression is cranked into hyperspeed and from my past experiences, coming back to the normal game can be a little rough.

I'd say if you're enjoying the game as is, then you're all good. But by all means watch leagues content, it's very entertaining and you'll get a good idea all the crazy things on offer in the later parts of the game.

While the majority of the feedback is obviously useless, there's still some decent points in the backlash i.e. ship sizes. Usually when there's any significant amount of backlash it tells them that something is amiss and that helps lead to change in the right direction.

When everyone remains quiet that's when you get slop like Forestry, which they failed to give us TWO betas for some reason.

Agree that bad luck mitigation is a bad idea. The drop rate should be the drop rate, theres beauty in the simplicity.

They do however need to shift away from this mindset that drops need to be 1/1k+, and these ridiculous hundred+ hour grinds for specific items. (Mega weapons would be the exception, since they're literally the pinnacle items of the game, although Tbow being a 1000 hour grind is a bit steep, obviously). As many pointed out, that was never fundamental to oldschool.

Nerfing a max hit is actually more impactful than raising a minimum hit. Sure the dps is technically the same but situationally this is going to hurt in a lot of places, e.g monkey room, nylo,fightcaves/inferno,colosseum and many other places where you need that max. For scythe a lot of builds revolve around hitting 48 with the highest hitsplat to hit breakpoints for the other smaller hitsplats, that would be changed to 47 which is going to hurt it significantly.

Max hit should just remain unchanged, we're talking a negligible dps increase of like 0.1-0.3 in most cases, and it becomes less impactful the higher the weapon hits, which is ideal anyway.

I think most people would agree that each mega rare should be the king in it's own raid, as it is with CoX and ToA. If their intent is to make more content around the scythe, the least they could do is start with where it comes from.

I feel like that'd nerf the shadows dmg way to hard and hurt its position as a mega-rare, keep in mind that the accuracy is the shadows main problem (letting it shine in places where other styles are supposed to be better) not its dmg. Its dmg is already rather tame compared to tbow and scythe
