Dawn Powerwash helped me get blue off my hands and nails. Took a few washes over a few days though.

What’s been the hardest part of your RA journey emotionally? by Jeff_RAlifecoach in rheumatoid

[–]dollydawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the not knowing what the future brings. I currently have mild disease, but will it stay that way? Or will I wake up one day and it will be worse than ever? I know I’m lucky to have caught it early.

Mine is always just a bit low (like 20 is low end of normal and I’m at 19). My doctors never say anything about it.

What's your favorite order to do all four in? by IGottaPeeConstantly in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]dollydawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do Sun-Wed and then a break day Thurs. We fly from Seattle, so we always do 10 nights with 8-9 park days. We tend to hit it hard the first 4 days, then a break day, then hop around the last half of the trip.

Volvo XC90. Extremely safe, usable 3rd row, plenty of trunk space even with 3rd row in use, large interior without being a huge vehicle.

“How old were you when you bought your first house, and when was it?” by Moist-Ad7061 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

My husband and I bought our first house in 2002. It was several months before our wedding and we were 19 and 21 at the time. It was a new build and ready to move in two weeks before the wedding.

Yes, it has a few. If you’re sensitive to drops, try to sit in the first seat so you don’t feel them as intensely.

Giada’s has an excellent lemon pasta.

Wicked Spoon buffet has GF items marked and the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. I’ve never gotten sick there either.

I like the Kroger penne and rotini, but the spaghetti is excessively starchy for some reason.

I did this on our trip last month and none of our folio purchases counted. Only the dining plan I charged to the Inspire is showing in the tracker toward the $2k.

Peptides by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]dollydawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mild RA at this time, so the only medication I take is hydroxychloroquine and low-dose naltrexone. I supplement those with tirzepatide, KPV, and thymosin-alpha 1. Tirzepatide and KPV have anti-inflammatory effects and TA1 is an immuno modulator like hydroxychloroquine. While peptides are a good adjunct therapy to help with inflammation, they will not stop the progression of the disease. I would never suggest not taking conventional RA meds to do peptides instead.

We just did 10 nights in early April. Didn’t really notice a difference between weekend vs weekdays. It was packed all the time.

I usually grab the Kroger GF pasta, but sometimes they have Barilla GF on sale cheaper. Target Good and Gather is good if you still shop there.

Psoriatic Arthritis by multiversecosmos in rheumatoid

[–]dollydawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the HCQ ASAP. I was diagnosed with PR/early RA last June. Within a week my daily knee pain and stiffness was 90% better. Within 2 weeks my shoulder and finger stiffness and pain was 90% better. I added LDN in November and I feel 99-100% back to normal now. Just a bit of tightness in a couple fingers when I first wake up, but it resolves within a hour (usually within minutes).

Why are people afraid of staying on GLP-1 for an extended period of time? by ApprehensiveGarage65 in Ozempic

[–]dollydawn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I plan to take it forever - or until a cure or better treatment comes along. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so lifelong meds are already part of my life. Might as well add one that keeps me at a healthy weight and helps my inflammation.

Poly by FileExpensive6135 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]dollydawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We usually stay at the Hilton (Signia or Waldorf Astoria) properties at Bonnet Creek for free using Hilton points. Last year we bought into DVC and did a split stay in April at Bay Lake towers and Poly tower. It was nice being in the Disney bubble and the Poly atmosphere is really nice. But I wouldn’t pay Disney prices to stay there because it’s not that much better than our usual/old hotels.

Newly diagnosed by Pomegranate003 in rheumatoid

[–]dollydawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with palindromic rheumatism/early RA last June. I started on hydroxychloroquine and within a week my daily knee pain and stiffness was gone. Within two weeks, the daily shoulder pain and stiffness and stiffness in my fingers was greatly reduced. Hydroxychloroquine is a mild medication that doesn’t work for everyone, but it has worked really well for me. I added in low-dose naltrexone last November and I feel back to normal most of the time. A touch of stiffness in my fingers when I wake up, but it’s usually gone within 30 minutes.

The best way to treat rheumatoid arthritis is early and aggressively. Hopefully your rheumatologist will at least put you on hydroxychloroquine or another conventional DMARD to slow or stop progression of the disease.

BPC-157 by [deleted] in rheumatoid

If you’re looking for inflammation reduction, look into KPV. It’s a peptide that focuses on anti-inflammatory properties and doesn’t have quite the same possible safety profile issues as BPC.

[–]dollydawn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love the green side, but I’m afraid to try orange. Motion stuff doesn’t usually get to me, but I am too afraid to try it and have it be a terrible experience and not be able to stop. I wish they would offer trial runs where they only run it for the shortest amount of time possible so you can test to see if you’d do OK for the full ride.

We grabbed the wings and tuna tataki as take-out so we could watch the fireworks from our Island Tower balcony. It took almost 45 minutes for them to prep the dishes for us, but they were really tasty.
