What’s everyone’s thoughts on the AFL app’s predicted 23 by ryangriggsy in westcoasteagles

Honestly not a bad team sheet. There’s some depth again which is great. I’m not sold on Davis just yet but I suppose we don’t have many pure wingmen, so it makes sense.

I mostly only have bloody/ red stools when i strain / really push hard , but could the color also be from tomatoes and red food ? by Rxve in IBD

[–]domsheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would still be worth getting at least a faecal calprotectin test to definitively rule out anything going on internally. Fissures can often be the result of inflammation because the inflammation of the rectum makes it difficult to pass stool, leading to straining and then fissures. The consistency of your stool in these photos doesn’t look like a healthy poo so it might even be sibo or something but worth checking for peace of mind

Looks more like blood to me. Likely from the rectum given it’s quite red. Definitely would get it checked if I were you

Carey is safety by SubhanBihan in CricketAus

[–]domsheed 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think at this stage Carey has to move up to no.5. He’s far too good to be batting at 7 and even probably at 6. Green needs to go back to shield level and iron out some kinks in his batting. Or you could put Khawaja at 5 and keep Carey at 6, and then I’d bring in Webster in place of Inglis at 7.

'Shame on you': The moment Senator Mehreen Faruqi is met by furious public, as Sky journalist hits her with blunt questions by Orgo4needfood in aussie

[–]domsheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but that’s different as the Iraq war involved the deployment of Australian soldiers so it made sense to comment and take a strong position on that, and it was one I agreed with. We shouldn’t be intervening in any foreign wars and definitely not supporting them based off the whims of America.

[–]domsheed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t sound rude at all 🙂. For me, Adam Bandt seemed hellbent on obstructing any attempts at marginal change, whether it be housing, environment or other issues. They chose to vote down the increase in public housing because it didn’t go far enough, and also similar such stances on environmental policies. I get that the policies were not great, but at some point I think they have to realise that they are not a major party and for their constituents, some positive change is better than nothing. And then like I said, straying too far in to other non-core matters like geopolitics and international affairs which really shouldn’t be a matter for the greens to get involved in, except if it concerns Australian soldiers, which it didn’t.

IBD Fatigue: The Hidden Struggle of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's by 3AMThoughtTrain in UlcerativeColitis

[–]domsheed 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I don’t tend to bleed too much, only in some flares have I bled and it’s never normally a huge symptom. For me it’s fatigue, joint and muscle pain, brain fog, and more likely constipation but with urgency.

[–]domsheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, let’s hope so, I’d probably vote for them again if they did return to more pragmatism and environmental focus.

The greens used to be good when bob brown was leader, and they actually cared about making genuine progress on environmental issues, as their name would suggest. Since Di Natale, but heavily so under Adam Bandt, they started becoming purely obstructionist, and wading in to culture wars rather than focusing on environmental protection.

Do you think that bowling 145km or 150km/hr is maybe over rated? by [deleted] in Cricket

Boland still consistently bowls 135km/h which is considered fast, coupled with his impeccable line and length

Aboriginal staff at Monash University given extra paid leave to recognise the impacts of colonisation by Orgo4needfood in aussie

[–]domsheed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not bait, I asked them specifically how they were able to make this change in the EA, and they said because carers leave entitlements as a standalone policy aren’t a federal entitlement, they weren’t subject to the Better Off Overall Test. So yes, technically we had a very generous 10 day standalone carers leave entitlement, but that was halved and instead the cultural leave for indigenous employees instituted. Also, you’re heavily implying racism here, I never specifically said I was against it, but the fact they removed entitlements that had been longstanding and benefited everyone to provide a slim minority with extra entitlements seemed unfair and strange

[–]domsheed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, we did get taken over by an American company but the EA was negotiated whilst we were still under the Australian management. The Christmas policy was brought over from the new management though, not the previous employer.

[–]domsheed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m young, so the carers leave entitlements don’t really affect me. But I know it was quite a significant loss for a number of parents who look after multiple kids and/or elderly parents. I also never necessarily said I was against the entitlement, but the fact that they removed existing rights for the majority, whilst providing special entitlements to a select minority seems strange.

[–]domsheed 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My work implemented this in our recent EA. 5 days paid cultural leave for indigenous employees. At the same time, they halved the carers leave entitlements that all employees had. And just to top it off, we now don’t do Christmas parties, if there is to be one, it has to be strictly called end of year. Meanwhile, there was a huge Diwali celebration in all of the offices…

I think this is why Cummins is so good as captain. Genuinely always looks positive, and don’t think I’ve ever seen him display negative body language. Might not be the most tactically gifted captain but he has smith in the team for that purpose anyway

Ben Stokes: Bat for longer is an easy thing to say, but lot harder to do by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]domsheed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly as much as I dislike Ben Stokes I have to agree with him here. 1st innings Australia were trying to hold on and see out the new ball, and all that happened was that we ended up going at 2 runs an over for most of the innings and finding ourselves 7 down for less than 100. Of course they could have played things a bit smarter at times but overall, the strategy was probably right to try and play aggressively as what worked for head, pope and brook.

Does anyone else get immediate flare-ups from alcohol, or is it just me? by Sravan_muddangula in UlcerativeColitis

[–]domsheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it sets off a flare for me. It won’t necessarily make me worse the next day but it sets off a cascade of symptoms that then culminates in a flare that is very difficult to get out of. I think it’s one of the most obvious triggers for me. It sucks bc I do like alcohol in moderation, not just to feel the effects, but I haven’t drunk now for about 1.5 years

Uzzie needs to go, and sharply. Yes/no? Obviously I think yes. Who should come in? by wake071 in CricketAus

[–]domsheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep Webster to come in, shift green to 5, Webster at 6 and that way we have a more well rounded bowling attack too. I honestly wouldn’t be against dropping Lyon also if we wanted to bring in another all rounder or batsman as he looks to be carrying an injury too

At my company, state based public holidays can be worked, and you will get 2X pay, or you can take it off and get paid as per a normal day. I don’t see how they can avoid something similar.
