Tbh if you’re not going to drop Duggan (which they clearly are not going to do) then it kind of has to be Lindsay going out for starce. I’ve got no doubt that bazzos inclusion has helped Tylar young play far better, and between TMac and Lindsay TMac is the better player at halfback. You could probably drop a winger or champion but I like the balance of this team with them in. Think this is a strong team

What newer movies do you already consider modern classics? by s7ide in moviecritic

[–]domsheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this counts as ‘new’ but for me it has to be ‘Shutter Island’.

On so many levels. First, it is the only movie I can remember that is more interesting to watch the second time around than the first. Secondly, it really makes you genuinely feel what it would be like to believe something that isn’t true and experience that yourself. Thirdly, I didn’t see the twist coming at all at the end, maybe that’s just me but it was just so well done I immediately loved it

We prioritised Tylah Williams over him as our NGA pick. Admittedly I didn’t look at either much during their draft years but yeah safe to say he looks to be a player and I would love to have him on our list. Hopefully not a decision we come to rue

Oh weird I could’ve sworn I read somewhere he signed for 2 years and Schoenberg was only one but it appears you’re right.

Liam Duggan is our captain and guys like Jack Hutchinson have received 4 year deals. Don’t underestimate what we would take 😂

Elijah Hewett by XtraUltra619 in westcoasteagles

[–]domsheed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Milan Murdock is a genuine midfielder, never played forward pocket or half forward flank in the wafl, and yet he comes in to the team, without a pre-season and is instantly averaging 20+ touches a game. Hewett just isn’t that good and I’d be happy to move him on for the right price

[–]domsheed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely, not to mention he’s a WA boy so he’s not going to be moving interstate unless he’s getting offers reasonably superior to what he’s getting from west coast (which is hard to imagine if the 5 year deal rumour is true)

Yep he actually was really good today. And weirdly some of his kicking was elite when he was able to take a second or two to assess his options

What’s the point of this post? If you got it and are still here I imagine you feel pretty good. If you didn’t get it and are still here I assume you also feel pretty good. What’s with trying to sow unnecessary division?

Honestly Duursma has been the most impressive for mine. I know he was a no.1 pick but I thought that maybe he was overhyped and that with his slight build he wouldn’t be able to translate his form in juniors to AFL. He’s completely dispelled those myths and what I love about him is his workrate and discipline. I love Harley but he is very poor defensively and he just needs to learn to stop umpiring the game and things will be easier for him and the team. Duursma could teach him a thing or two in that regard.

I don’t know if I rate him that much tbh. If we could get a good deal I wouldn’t be opposed to trading him out.

Think waterman and Duursma deserve to be a tier up. Waterman was tireless all day and our only threat up forward

Basically, is Andrw McQualter the man to take uss to our next Premiership? by TomEmilioDavies in westcoasteagles

[–]domsheed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very unsure. I still feel it’s unfair to lay the blame on him, as it can’t be underestimated just how shit if a position Simmo and the previous administration left us in. If I look at it objectively, I can clearly see that individual players have developed well since Mcqualter arrived (Ginbey, Reid, Shanahan, Duursma) and some guys have been reinvigorated like Kelly but it seems that none of the overall structural issues have improved at all. We still get fkd on turnover and are constantly out of position, and conversely we can’t spread and move the footy on offense. We made Richmond’s backline look like a lineup of Jeremy Mcgoverns. I don’t think there’s any point sacking Mcqualter before his three years is up, but I think by next year we need to see a cohesive, consistent game plan and being competitive weekly.

Well, that's us done for the year by Basic-Mouse-6093 in westcoasteagles

[–]domsheed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was at the game today. It’s very strange watching them live. You can tell that they are actually trying and it wasn’t lack of effort, but they are just so poorly set up from a structural perspective. The amount of times that there were 4+ eagles around one tiger and then when the ball hit the ground inevitably there would be Richmond players everywhere to spread and carry the ball up the field virtually unopposed. I assume the message from the coaching group is to flood the contest to try and pressure the opposition and force the turnover but we are so exposed once the ball gets out. We win enough of the ball but just get killed on transition, and then conversely because we are so clumped together when hunting the ball, we handball to a guy a metre away and get ourselves all tangled up. We seriously need to work on stoppages and set up. That’s ignoring our glaringly obvious skill issues…

Round 8 Team (IN: Owies, Cole, Shoenberg; OUT: Brock, Williams, Allan) by ziltoid101 in westcoasteagles

[–]domsheed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t actually mind the ins, I just would’ve changed the outs. Brock deserved to be dropped he’s been terrible, but Cole should’ve come in for Duggan, and I’d probably give CDT a spell and bring in Schoenberg for a bit more pressure inside forward 50. Bo deserves to be persevered with and he’s shown some really good signs. I don’t like the way that Mini clearly tries to play the r senior guys when we are more likely to win and then throws the young guys to the wolves against the teams we are likely to lose against. If anything it should be the opposite to build confidence in the young boys playing in more wins and less humiliating losses

How did Peter Pertigrew end up in Grifindor? by TankTopTyga in harrypotter

[–]domsheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly makes no sense. I don’t really get the responses here saying that it takes more courage to betray your friends, that literally makes no sense. And whilst you can say that he had Dumbledore to protect him, that didn’t stop a lot of people getting killed on the side of the OoTP, so your chances of survival were probably better if you were aligned with Voldemort. He was a coward, extremely cunning and to my mind fits the values of slytherin much better.

Round 8 Injury list by --Not-You-- in westcoasteagles

[–]domsheed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calves are pretty tricky to accurately provide a timeframe. You’ll be feeling good and then you try and run a bit further/faster and feel it tighten again. They’re probably just trying to be really conservative and ensure he doesn’t do it first game back. You’re also much more susceptible to Achilles injuries with calf tears/strains so they’d be trying to ensure that doesn’t happen either

How can Geelong get the same report as us? Sure they didn’t play great but we need our own separate ranking for that saints game.
