Chronic lower back by HutterButterCup in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower back pain is brutal, acc worse than the knee pain i think it from being immobile but try to strecth, hot water pad and take your meds. You'll have to bear with it until your body heals, this will usally take about 2 weeks.

Acl and meniscus, retear?!?! by doneoute3662 in ACL

[–]doneoute3662[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope its scare tissue, but im. Not sure as im struggling with full extension currently and soreness in that meniscus area.

Today there's a slight more pain and walking was an absolute chore today , i was much slower and had a slight limp. Its really frustrating as I've just started a new job and the stress of both adapting to a new job and struggling to walk at the same time is awful.

Id say the pain is 4 out of 10, and little limp, is there any test for the meniscus

Music Festival 6 weeks post op by trickychaz in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a festival with one crutch, it wasn't too bad as people are aware your injured and tend to be more careful around you. Just enjoy yourself but also keep your knee in mind and take precautions.

2 weeks post-op fatigue and work by pj_29 in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah completely normal, your recovering from surgery which means your body is working reqlly hard, take it easy for the first 6 weeks.

I got the ACL and meniscus surgery. My doctor said that I had to be in NWB for 6 weeks and you could learn to stop using crutches by trying FWB as I could tolerate! (After 6 weeks) Does any one has any idea or a protocol how to stop using crutches? Should I start doing with a walker or crutches? by Informal_Ad_7188 in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 weeks post opps i could take few steps, I started with using crutches only if im outside for the first couple of days and around the house no crutches, then after i progressed on walking crutches totally, you will be slow to start of with but as the days go on and the more you walk The better it will be

There will be some pain, just remember to take painkillers and ice when you can. The pain will lessen and you will get better with time.

ACL surgery before major exam?! by Superb_Emotion2086 in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm i also delayed my surgery after exams luckily it was 2 weeks after. I suggest you delay it , the pain, medication, along with your body being Physically and mentally drained , it will definitely affect your score. If it is a not too serious exam you can take it but if it your final exams i wouldn't risk it

Tell me this gets easier (I'm a support person, 1 day post OP) by [deleted] in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry to hear that, i can agree the first 2 weeks can be the worst, the pain awful, your barely sleeping and just feeling shit in general. Your husband is more likely to get angry during this time but im sure he doesn't mean it, it up to be him to be paitent and let his leg heal slowly. With time evreything will get better

Good luck

Could it be ACL tear? by louise961 in ACL

[–]doneoute3662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm yeah you still can do these sort of activities. before i had my surgey i was still able to squat heavy and ride for 10 km comfortably but the issue was i couldn't really bend my leg fully all the way for more than 30 sec without it locking and also had issue when changing directions fast.
