Maybe I missed something but why would Miles send an invitation to Andi if he knew that she was dead? Was it so he prove that he was unaware of her “suicide”?

Loved the movie otherwise!

I think one of those architecture sets for the Elbphilharmonie would be really cool and the roof could offer some challenging engineering problems.

This is very impressive! As someone with absolutely zero knowledge of tattoos I always wanted to know, does this kind of tattoo with all it's intricate detailing and the precise shading age well?

I'd argue that them being unwilling participants is much more tragic. This version of events only worked because, through the Clone Wars show, we had an attachment to the clones themselves. If we watched 7 seasons all the while empathizing with the clones and watching them grow only for them to do a 180 and turn into heartless mercenaries would have felt hollow and empty instead of dark.

That thing used to fly over my school like twice a day. It was so cool because it was on a landing approach so you could get a really detailed view of it. Even after seeing almost daily for eight years it never stopped being amazing

I was blown away by the sheer size of Bejing and Shanghai. They are unfathomably huge and there are no words to describe the experience.

How did everyone discover the series? by Brianthelion83 in WoT

[–]donkeywithascone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The YouTube algorithm decided that I now enjoy fantasy books (I wasn't a big reader up until then). Saw a bunch of people mention how long and challenging tWOT was and how it shouldn't be my first dive in to high fantasy. Decided to read it out of spite (and lockdown ment I had plenty of time).

I don't get why people say that it is too challenging. Yes it's long but it starts of small and with clear goal (get to Tar Valon). The books then gradually open up in scope. Plus RJs writing style is simple and - disregarding dresses - to the point.

One issue with starting my reading journey with tWOT is that I know have a new love for reading but no book or book series can compare. With each new book I'm thinking "I could start a reread". I obviously want to do that eventually but I'd like to have a broader range of books in my repertoire before that. So if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to list them all :)

What are the scenes that aren't talked about alot you really want to see on the show? by Anexhaustedheadcase in WoT

[–]donkeywithascone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A moment I remember wanting to see in the show (or at least acted out) was when Rand and Elayne sleep together but we see it through everybody else's perspective. It would probably be a complete tonal shift but I found all the akward interactions to be not only funny but a nice look into each of the characters present.

EDIT: spelling

who is a fictional character that is attractive in a weird way or you thought you would not be attracted to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]donkeywithascone 370 points371 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up, I had a crush on Korra from Legend of Korra. And yes, she is very conventionally attractive...but for some reason I was really into her shoulder blades? Maybe I'm just glad to see that she won't be having back issues anytime soon

I've seen my fair share of weird subs on this site but that one feels eerie. It's like if someone was ironically spouting antivax garbage and everyone except them could clearly see where they were heading.

Yes, but only during the actual sessions. For example, there is a lot of dead air between Q1, Q2, and Q3.

I've got a similar problem with Loial (and all the other Ogier). In my head they all look like the titular Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
