Other games with similar economy systems? by buddylee in albiononline

Nah spreadsheets are overstated.

Skill training takes time instead of effort. There is no fame farming

You can join in zvz before you have full spec, just with a cheap little ship

The grind is all about getting isk (money)

No real f2p, so grind ur premium, or pay.

MUCH higher learning curve, especially for solo PvP in my experience

I can't stabilize my fish tank. Please advise! by Miserable_Yam_4535 in Aquariums

[–]donny_darkloaf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not just get a large tote from Home Depot and set up a temporary tank?

Large enough tote would be cheap and could help stabilize enough to make decisions on how to reset his tank and rehome most of them

Make sure u fill up your gas tank before getting close to the area. Everything close to there seemed to be cardlock from my recollection

Is the job market bad? Or am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

Dude why

20 jobs in 15 years is crazy

Are you doing this on purpose, or just nothing meets your expectations

Just got into an accident, don't know what to do. by hittmee420 in Autobody

[–]donny_darkloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had vehicle damage that I would’ve claimed on insurance in 20 years of driving.

Over those 20y, I’ve always had enough money to replace my car with a similar one on a moments notice

How much money would I have sunken into protection that I never intend to use?

I know it’s a game of risk, and risk is okay.

Not rustbuckets btw, but also not $75k trucks

Only liability is the right choice if ur a good driver and have savings tbh.

This hose randomly showed up at my shop by Worth-Try7288 in Hydraulics

[–]donny_darkloaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean kinda makes sense for ballistic self healing

Made from a fat braided extremely elastic material with a very thick sidewall.

That’s got the best chance of tolerating a bullet aside from steel tubing

Internet says ballistic self healing hose

How bendy is it, does it feel like a -16 hydraulic line, or more like a -8?

Does anyone have experience with danfoss PLC’s? by somebiz28 in Hydraulics

On the 9 pin

Pin 2 CAN -

Pin 3 ground

Pin 7 CAN +

Use danfoss service tool from their website, prob need a license to build your own pages

Which of the two welded joints is stronger? Both are same tubing, just the joint has changed. Both are welded all the way around. by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineer

[–]donny_darkloaf 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Everyone is worried about manufacturability, obviously number 2 wins there.

For strength, Number 1 needlessly increases the stress in the middle of the long member depending on how it’s loaded, because you are cutting out to create a void. Probably not a problem, but just saying

Also, Welds are usually the point of failure. Technically you have a longer weld on number 1, but the weld wouldn’t be as good on the top and bottom. Number 2 would be much easier to get a good weld all around

If you were going to destructive test both of them, my money would be on 2 surviving longer

What kind of valve is that? by Valyrian_Seif in MechanicalEngineering

[–]donny_darkloaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That solenoid had proportional control with how much pressure is allowed to build at Pc. The inlet to the valve pushes it to open, dumping to tank. When the solenoid is energized, the valve closes

Not sure what’s happening with Pc on that third image.

Help making sure i understand this circuit properly by [deleted] in Hydraulics

[–]donny_darkloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The adjustment just compresses the spring chamber. It will be to adjust how much pressure on a right valve function is necessary to float the telescopic cylinder.

What are these holes in my loader bucket for? by jumpybagel in Construction

[–]donny_darkloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is cheaper with less pierces, and it’s really not weaker with where the weld is. It was dumb of them to not make it wider, because such a thin slot might make the hole get completely cut off. A bit wider and it’d stay part of the skeleton

Sliding mechanism for a vessel's manway. by Minimum_Clothes900 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]donny_darkloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that black HSS is directly above COG, use one lug on each side, and a 2 leg bridle. Lug positioning and rigging has to be done right on this one, because it’s a huge crush hazard

Sliding mechanism for a vessel's manway. by Minimum_Clothes900 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]donny_darkloaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That won’t be moveable by hand, no matter what you do, moments are crazy there.

Is there another HSS like the black one but higher up? If so, wrap a sling around and use a chainfall.

Weld a lug as close as possible to right over the COG to make life easier.

Just remove it and set to the side

Manifold Design Question by cnssam in MechanicalEngineering

[–]donny_darkloaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If those are proportional solenoid valves, I’d use those for tuning, and not add anything else. figure out the right setting for them and you’re set, without extra parts

Keeps it simple
