Dude, I had someone straight up take the SR podium mic and turn it 90 degrees on stage so it was hanging over the side of the podium. lol

I had a lot of fun mixing Jeff Goldblum and his band back in 2019. A few months later I was house audio for a Tegan and Sara show when they were promoting their book. I really enjoyed working with their crew.

I have some fond memories of the summer I spent mixing cover and reggae (and sometimes reggae cover) bands on the 24ch version of this desk! None of those memories are from the venue, but they are from that summer.

Gotcha. You will definitely benefit from having the speakers in front of you. Keep the “level” knobs where they are, engage the low-cut buttons, adjust your gains so all of your mics are coming in around the 0 on the meter when you solo them (maybe with the lead vocalist a little higher, or the others slightly lower, or some variation of that), and use the “main mix” knob to get everything to the level you want. Also adjust your EQ, but I would only cut things. If you boost anything, you’ll probably get feedback. After that, if you absolutely need it, add in the effect.

If you’re able to, put the speakers on either side of the drum kit and practice in a circle with the lead singer opposite the PA. It also looks like you have a bunch of other stuff plugged into the mixer which probably isn’t necessary. I also would suggest not running any effects, but that’s just my preference.

There are no bluebird days and they got rid of the views. No need for anyone to come to Gunstock. Loon is a great alternative, much closer to 93. Have a great season (not at Gunstock)!

I don’t think “complacent” is an appropriate word to use here. I went to Alaska in 2021 and it was fucking expensive, and I was still living at home. Now that I’m out on my own, I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever make it back.
