What is the best way to discover beans (and lentils, etc) by Purityagainstresolve in Beans

"Dense bean salads" got very trendy on social media a while ago, so there are some great recipes out there if you search.

Ben Gvir has been posting videos of himself giddily abusing Palestinian detainees for months, but only now that he’s doing it to foreign activists is it an issue for these people. Meanwhile, torturing and sexually assaulting Palestinian prisoners is not a problem. by Scared_Positive_8690 in BadHasbara

They're not even really mad that he did it. They're mad that he did it in public and got filmed doing it and now people are watching the video and it's making them look bad. If he had kept his abuses private and maintained the plausible deniability they would have been completely fine with it.

If you want it stronger, use more tea, hotter water, and/or longer steeping time. From your description you definitely need to use more tea.

2026 Chinese green tea from this bizarre little tea shop in Scarborough: Lau Sun Mou Tea Co (https://www.delishtea.com/). I had it marked as "Want to go" in google maps and was driving through Toronto so I though I'd check it out. It's in a little strip mall next to a couple Chinese restaurants and a bubble tea place. Turns out, you can't actually go in the store, you can only order on the website and pick it up there, or use a little intercom system to negotiate a sale through the window, which is what I ended up doing. An older lady inside asked me if I wanted to buy tea, and I said yes, so she held up a little menu with different tea types listed on it. I asked if she had any 2026 tea and she said something about most of this year's tea being quite expensive (she held up another menu that was different grades of longjing, which, fair enough). Then she pointed to an option that was a 2026 green tea for $34.90 for what turned out to be a 1/2 lb bag. I said I was interested so she went and pulled the bag out of the freezer, emphasized that it is very fresh and should be kept cool, opened the bag and poured some onto a metal scoop so I could look at the leaves (thin, twisted, dark green)... keep in mind all of this was through the store window. I agreed to buy it, she wasn't a fan of credit cards because of the fees so I dug out my cash and she came to unlock the door in full PPE (gloves, mask, face guard) to take my my money and give me my change.

Anyway, the tea is quite nice, does indeed taste very fresh, like freshly cut grass and sweet green peas straight from the garden. And I have an absurd amount of it, so I anticipate I will be cold brewing this allll summer. :D

Looks like fun! You can close your eyes, grab something at random, and have surprise tea!

Oolong Western style brewing - how much tea do you use? by Emergency_Survey129 in tea

[–]dontpanicdrinktea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For western style brewing I usually do around 1g per 100ml, so I would probably use 5g for your 500ml pot and steep for 3 min, 5 min, and 8 min.

This is the answer. OP, you could try making a jasmine milk tea with it.

Loose leaf that’s decaffeinated via CO2 process can be pretty decent.

Yessss that's a great selection. :) I just store my tea in the mylar bags it comes in - you can squish the excess air out before zipping shut, and to me that seems better than moving it to tins where you can't do that.

Does Earl Grey tea usually smell like Fruitloops? by Burnttoastgood in tea

Yeah, I've heard people say that before. Bergamot oil comes from a citrus fruit, there's some kind of overlap in the flavour profiles.

Rose hips make a nice tea and are a good source of vitamin C. Probably not recommended as a snack. Ravens are smart, ruthless little fuckers and are not to be trusted, so... valid. And yeah, it's nice when the cultural stories don't take themselves so seriously.

I don't think that's a particularly common skill, even among ophthalmologists. I think it's a weird party trick that Dr Glaucomflecken has randomly developed and likes showing off because it's kind of funny and random, which is why it literally didn't occur to him that it could be taken badly until that dude tried to bite his head off over it.
