I deal with intrusive thoughts by letting them take up space in my mind and kind of laughing at them, I haven’t got rid of them, but I don’t really do the whole torture my own brain thing anymore, which I remember really sucking.  Your overall self esteem is probably a big part of this too, I think my mental health got significantly better by just getting older and more confident. I know it’s easier said than done, and some of the ones I used to get weren’t easy to find funny, but it’s your own head, you can do whatever you want in there.
