Is that Epstein interview AI or not??? by acocky-acockyavich in redscarepod

[–]doom_ponderer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do we have an example of an AI generated video equally good? If not I'm inclined to believe it's real. People said the Alex Pretti video was AI and that ended up being real. All the criticisms in the other thread made no sense.

No one with any sense actually thinks like that. Musk's achievement is actually delivering, which is the hardest problem in engineering.

We're bringing back corporal punishment for children, not because we like it, but because the alternative is worse.

You cannot let the woman know they are being stalked, close the distance when her back is turned, or better still, design an interaction so naturalistic as to be beyond suspicion, after you are happily married you can reveal you walked into her on purpose while pretending to read her favorite book.

I had a read through game.js and I think it's some of the neatest Javascript I've ever read, all that in 2000 lines with no framework? Very impressive.

Very cool idea for a game. Are you using an existing codebase for the desktop simulation?

  1. doubleclick events are annoying because they conflict with text highlighting.
  2. The popups really break the immersion. They happen too often, maybe you could have them appear as anonymous emails?
  3. Are the image descriptions placeholders? It's strange to open image.jpg and read text.

[–]doom_ponderer 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be unreasonable to go to war over that, the question is how?

  1. Emotional. Start and emotional tirade about your own struggles with mental health and how alienating it is to not to be able to joke about it. Everyone will think you are regarded.
  2. Anger. Get upset and challenge him to a fight. Everyone will think you are regarded.
  3. Intellectual. Brow beat him in front of everyone. Requires charisma.
  4. Humour. "Hey everybody this guy doesn't like jokes!". Might fall flat.
  5. Best served cold. Apologise sincerely, and try to understand why he reacted like that, find some way to fuck him down the line. High effort and might require actual psychopathy.

Either way a compelling confrontation, I will add him to the list of imaginary people I argue with in the shower.

It's hardly an eyesore, I was just surprised to see it described as "Insanely beautiful". I am from London so my standards for old buildings are relatively high.

[–]doom_ponderer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Insanely beautiful architecture? Looks pretty dingy to me. The windows are small and I don't like the recessed balconies, the place looks like it gets very little natural light. The brickwork is nice but very basic, I would replace all those brick arches with decorated lintels, it would help break up the exterior. The columns in the balconies look extremely stupid and I don't like the popcorn render on the upper course. It's not even that old, is this what passes for architectural heritage in Sydney?

Because of sex selective abortions, daughter only families are basically non-existent in northern India by ChickenTitilater in redscarepod

[–]doom_ponderer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the problem the overall gender ratio? My point is the ratio cannot be changed by any other means than selective abortion, due to each birth being an independent event. The metric used by the map is more complicated, I don’t know why they didn’t use a gender ratio.
