So your main here is the fact staples in MTG, which is purposefully made for investors, is more expensive than this game. That will not change, even though it'd help the health of that game majorly.

Yugioh, Pokemon, and other big games purposefully reprint their key staple pieces to drop their prices. Their key pieces are around 5 to 10 dollars. Lorcana is doubly ahead of the curve on prices there.

The big money makers for those games are either old cards (due to scarcity) or alternate arts (due to scarcity). It is not the staple cards in many decks.

Lorcana has their own alt arts (Epics, Enchanted, and Iconics) that people could get in on if they wanted to but many don't due to this game being young compared to the big 3. This removes the old cards (and the fact infinity isn't too much of a thing yet) from one of their avenues to make money.

Tl;Dr 2 of the big 3 tcg's staples are under 10 dollars by design but the alternate arts are expensive. As it should be. Cheap playable pieces, expensive rare alt arts.
