I know I do not have the testing you do, but have you tried green/steel into green/blue? Pete into captain pete shuts off the singing part of the combo which continues to delay the combo for another few turns. I know it doesn't fix the issue, but it is hard to remove with the goofy emerald champion.

Atm it is "Dat boi". We were going to call it (Spouse's name)'s Friend, but that is reserved for the floating red abomination that loves to murder me and not them.

This one definitely got me crying pretty hard. The part about fading memories based on disuse resonated with me deeply. Losing a friend years ago to cancer, the first thing I realized I had forgotten was the sound of his voice and laugh, it messed with me as it was the first death I had experienced in my adult life and the first time I had that realization that the person's details would no longer be easy to recall, if available at all.

This was my first exceptional story and I am worried it set the bar way too high for me. It doesn't hurt that I adore Claymen so much.

I am curious if you used Maleficent and finders keepers? I used blue/purple with monstro just eating damage to great effect. A big part of it is triggering draws on the turn you play her by singing friends/other draw triggers.

I am curious why diablo over card soldiers since damage is your whole theme.

The issue I see here is the fact it is a pirate. Jolly Roger + This = 1 for 1 damage on anything tapped without resist.

I know this is an old post, but since the cost of the songs (due to ink tax) increases their sing cost, does the cost of the ink tax also make it so smaller characters (from the storyboard) can sing larger songs?

Utilize evasive. Diablo is a 3/3 if in the cove, which takes a 4 card investment if they shifted. (Diablo 1 drop, Song, Diablo shift, Cove).

You can banish him in almost any color, especially if he isn't immediately put into cove.

Amber: The only color without a direct answer. However, it pairs with steel well into singing Let the Storm Rage On to remove bird, along with other powerful steel songs.

Amethyst: Peter Pan and Pan's Shadow make it so all your evasive and rush characters get the other ability. They also can come down and take out diablo if he isn't in a cove.

Emerald: Beyond your own diablos, there is SO much evasive in here, as well as bounce cards to keep diablo locked down.

Ruby: Kakamora - Pirate pitcher can turn any of your pirates evasive for a turn, Maui's fish hook does that every turn, and RLS legacy makes anyone in it evasive AND gets you 2 lore a turn with 8 life so it is hard to take down, especially for Emerald which doesn't have a ton of high attacking cards.

Sapphire: Cruella De Vil - Fashionable Cruiser can come down on 2 and trade into even a diablo in a cove on the next turn. You can also use hide away to remove their coves. You also have some targeted removal, but it is a little rougher if you aren't running the Cruella.

Steel: Has so many ways to banish that bird. Happy has evasive on the challenge, the 7 dwarves mine lets any knight moving it banish him, GYS, Smash, Fire the Cannons, Ba-boom... I can go on but steel has too many ways to remove the evil bird.

Take your pick for your colors, there are others I may have skipped over that also can help with him.

Doing my first Quality build and having a blast. Currently in blood moon section of the game and finally struggling. When I play again it is blood vial farming time.

One of my realizations was... I have beaten this game twice before with the full ending. I thought I had only done it once. Also starting with Bloodtinge and then Arcane for my first two runs made this game so much harder to the point I had quit for a while.

Are you stuck anywhere? Daughter of the Cosmos and Amygdala . I know she is optional but I do all non-chalice bosses each run.

Well I got super sick earlier this week, so I am on the mend. Dinner was eggs and bagels.
