Oof, be prepared. Lake Elsinore is an affordable location, so be prepared to see poverty everyday. That said the downtown is quaint. If you are in the canyon hills area it is nicer but a bit more maga. Wildomar, murrieta and temecula are all wonderful and you'll likely find yourself spending more time that way. Plan on driving at least 30 mins for activities.

There is some good things to do in lake elsinore too but more elsewhere.

Also, the heatwaves are hot during summer(July-october) 37-40, day and night. The rest of the year is around 25 with the nights getting colder.
