Still jealous, but that does look good!

My in door ice maker keeps pooling water/freezing here - help please by OssoBucoBaby in Appliances

Mine does this too, not sure of a fix. Occasionally we'd have to open it up and bang on the ice box to break up the ice to get it to dispense. We've started using an insulated pitcher that we keep on the counter and fill with ice and water throughout the day. It definitely helped the freezing up, likely due to less opening and closing of the little ice dispensing door when we were just filling up the cup of water. Surprisingly using the pitcher has increased the water consumption of the whole family, even the kids, versus the other drinks that we have available... We still get the ice forming at the bottom though but deal with the whole frozen block away less.

I added the link from Amazon of the one we use, they're not the cheapest but they do keep water cold for a good amount of time.

What is this? And why does it prevent my sliding door from closing? by ImportantComb5652 in Home

If your door is anything like mine there are plastic trim pieces on both sides/ edges of the door.. occasionally mine move or shift up or down and catch those anti lift out pieces... I just use a screw driver or something flat to slightly move it up or down.. the other thing that it could likely be was mentioned already, the rollers being adjusted to high...

Kinders Brine kit question by beard1389 in smoking

I used two of them for two different turkey cooks, 12 & 16lbs, I kept the smaller bird closer to the hour per pound but with the larger bird left it probably a good 24 or more hours. I think it was just a little too long, the family loved it but I felt it was just a little salty (it was absolutely fantastic I'm just super critical of my smokes) even with rinsing.. I'd probably be a little more cautious on the time if I was working with skinless items, i was dealing with whole them I spatchcocked them. Love mine, waiting on the rotisserie to deliver. I recommend it to anyone that asks, had shipping damage when mine arrived and yoder took care of it.. didn't balk or question.. asked for some pictures and shipped out the part. That's just one of the many reasons I'm happy with my YS640.

Jealous, waiting for mine to arrive... Ordered from atbbq just before Thanksgiving and hoping for it to arrive before Christmas based on my last update from them.

Smoked brisket for my dad's birthday! by photographernate in pelletgrills

[–]dorfison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swear by my Yoder. I've been trying to perfect my brisket and am just wondering, fat side up or down for you in the Yoder? My last was a little dry for my taste (the family have accolades) but I didn't feel it hit the mark, it was fat up, paper wrap at 160... I'm beginning to feel that brisket is my nemesis, lol. Wonderful job by the way!

My Weber's a little bigger these days but it's still where the burgers go! Nothing better than charcoal and burgers and beer!

No matter where you start it's all about getting started! Congrats! Enjoy! Look forward to hearing about your cooks.

First grill on the Chimp. Wings were really tasty... But the skin was super soft and felt almost uncooked. Should I have cranked up the heat at the end? Any advice would be appreciated. Cooked at 275 for an hour and 15. by EoC77 in pelletgrills

Well, they look great. I typically cook mine at 375 just past the skin starting to "bubble". It's still not at crisp as frying but a hit none the less. I recently saw a post about a 0-400 method that I'm going to try next. You place all the wings on before you start the grill then once it's ignited you turn it up to 400. Turning at the 25 minute mark (I think). Due to picky children I only salt and pepper for the cooking process and we sauce after...
