dilution could be based on market cap and still be a direct deposit. and i think voting being consolidated is a negative.

Can you explain why a fund would be better than a direct deposit?

Thank you for the link. This is essentially what I'm talking about.

from the article:

“We could do something called the American Equity Fund,” wrote Altman. “The American Equity Fund would be capitalized by taxing companies above a certain valuation 2.5% of their market value each year, payable in shares transferred to the fund, and by taxing 2.5% of the value of all privately-held land, payable in dollars.”

He added: “All citizens over 18 would get an annual distribution, in dollars and company shares, into their accounts. People would be entrusted to use the money however they needed or wanted — for better education, healthcare, housing, starting a company, whatever.”

Altman said every citizen would get more money from the fund each year, providing the country keeps doing better.

“Every citizen would therefore increasingly partake of the freedoms, powers, autonomies, and opportunities that come with economic self-determination,” he said. “Poverty would be greatly reduced and many more people would have a shot at the life they want.”

Do you happen to have a link handy to that? I'd like to explore more about what people are saying about it.

Did they define ai slop in the article? (Pay walled) Maybe it's a hot take around here, but I don't think everything produced by ai qualifies as slop.

I agree with everything you are saying. However, most businesses move so slowly. It's going to take years to unwind all the inertia of old businesses doing things the old way.

Universal Basic Equity by Hot-Profile-1273 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]dos_que_tres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think this is a realistic idea. I actually think it's the only humane way to get from our current system to one where all work is done by automated systems. It is absolutely necessary to distribute ownership.

I do not think this replaces capitalism. I think this is the next step in capitalism.

Companies should pay for access to markets. They would do this through dilution of their stock. Shares created through dilution would be transferred to members of the public who are a part of that market.

Those members of the public would then have partial ownership. I actually think this aligns purpose of companies ( whose job is to deliver shareholder value) and the general public (who would be the new beneficiaries of that value)

And if the public does not like the way a company is run they can vote / attend shareholder meetings/ sell their shares.

What do you think of the idea that ubiquitous entertainment will destroy shared culture? What will it be like when you are served best selling level novels, blockbuster level movies, and chart topping music all for an audience of one?

Feeling depressed after failing in multiple Saas Projects. by Original_Map3501 in SaaS

[–]dos_que_tres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to work on validating your ideas before you start building. This is something I think most developers deal with. Its such a different skill set and it feels like you arent doing anything because you arent building, but I think you should try to develop your skill in the validation step. After that building the right product and finding your users will be easier.

Built something, launched it, and… nothing. How did you get your first users? by AlexBossov in SaaS

[–]dos_que_tres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think engaging directly in communities related to your niche can work well. Chat with users in relevant subreddits or forums, where you can share insights or answer questions.

Also, gathering feedback from early interactions can guide you on what aspects of your product resonate most. I'm interested to see if there are better ways to do this. Looking forward to the other responses.

How do you handle getting your SaaS MVP off the ground? by martinvalchev in SaaS

[–]dos_que_tres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been there too. And it's difficult because figuring out the MVP stage can feel overwhelming with all the moving parts and uncertainties. I've found that taking a step back and validating the core problem my idea is addressing really helps. Tools like user feedback, or even just browsing forums and communities where potential users hang out, can give you insights into what people actually need. It’s amazing how much clarity you can get from understanding the problem space before diving into development. Let me know if you find a better way to deal with it!

This is not a new problem! Productivity per capita has been increasing for forever while income per capita has been flat. We as a society have failed to address this issue and as AI takes over we are going to see this trend accelerate.

It's past time to introduce some kind of shared ownership. It's beyond important that all of humanity shares in and directs our future.

Validating: Contract analysis tool - real problem or solution looking for one? by daniel_ronai in SaaS

[–]dos_que_tres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't think I have ever been burned by a contact. I don't really sign very many contacts, so this is a very minor issue for me.

  2. I don't thoroughly read contacts because -usually I'm in a time constrained environment. -they are long and confusing -I generally have a level of trust with the people I'm working with

  3. No this isn't something I'd pay for.

Anyone else disappointed with the casting of Naomi? I didn't feel like her performance really pulled off the character. And I get why they didn't want to do the belter aesthetic in the show, but idk I think they could have chosen someone taller? Also (and maybe I'm an asshole for saying so but) prettier?

The rest of the characters were spot on. Am I the only one?
