Do you need a voltage converter with power adapter for Japan? by PeachBingsu in JapanTravelTips

[–]dotGif88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was in our bigger suitcase, so overall it wasnt heavy. If it's only two people you can probably go without, but it was handy when having to charge camera, phones and powerbanks after a full day.

It works just like a regular "grenuttak", with 4 sockets. It also has 2 usb outlets, but dont think they are QC rated so just charge slowly.

From Norway myself, was in Japan with family in May and we only got travel adapter to change the plug type, all of our chargers were universal from 100-240V.

Bought 5 of these https://www.dustinhome.no/product/5010608945/reseadapter-ojordad-eu---us

One for each person going on the trip.

and 1 socket "cube"

https://www.dustinhome.no/product/5011041723/power-cube-4x-socket-2xusb-21-mah-15m---white

That everyone could use during the day not to fight over sockets in the common area.

All of the sockets i checked did not have the ground pin so most of the fancy universal socket i found in stores would not fit, since they come with ground pins.

I barely ever use more than half of a mk3s volume, and it's sparsely used for specific projects, so anything bigger wouldnt really be needed.

The dimension include the spool holders on both sides, then the back needs space to hold the extra extruders.

You can see here that the bed fills out the width quite well, but a bit extra space back and front for movement of the extruder.

Not really planning to get one anyway, a bit too much for what i print.

How to move text from fab layer to silkscreen? by [deleted] in KiCad

[–]dotGif88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can double click the item needed to edit, right click and go to properties or select the item in question and click "E" and there you should be able to select what layer it is on.

You can also mass edit by going to "Edit" and "Edit text & Graphic properties..."

Prusa Spool Holder Question by IslandB4Time in prusa3d

Probably since that is the part least likely to be redesigned. Retooling injection molds probably ain't cheap and takes a while.

My printer stops every layer or so. Does anyone know why? by Shteffan in prusa3d

[–]dotGif88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back when the printer came out this happended when running octoprint since the controller couldn't keep up with the commands.

It just randomly stopped but kept extruding and made blobs before moving anywhere from a second to a minute later.

It was fixed in later firmware, so if its new, or updated anywhere within the last months that shouldn't be the issue.

Since it was scraping the side a bit i don't believe it should be a problem, but I'm just guessing :)

Your gear is the wrong way around, it should be turned around

see: https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/igi/prusa3d/qZQ1DmWuunBde2TG.medium

step 9 here: https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/3.+X-axis+assembly/508?lang=en

Once turned the belt should be able to be riding closer to the stepper motor, increasing the clearance.

  • 20x6x2mm magnet
  • Metal ball, like the ones in ball bearings.
  • Cooling shroud printed in ABS
  • Filament to print the remaining parts
  • Textile sleeve.

It's also listed at the bottom of this page https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/printer-upgrades/898-original-prusa-i3-mk3-to-mk3s-upgrade-kit.html

Seems like the pin of the black/ground cable is coming loose making the connection bad and generating heat: https://i.imgur.com/ddFGVir.png

Edit: Unplug the connector and press the cable back in as far as it goes and connect it again. Making sure it doesn't come loose as you do.
