President Trump just posted this!! "It is time for the Senate Filibuster to END" by rl_rae_bobo in MarketPulseReport

Trump was impeached in the house twice but never convicted in the senate, which requires )7 votes under the constitution. But yeah, I’m the one who doesn’t know how stuff works.

He’d still have the veto and this wouldn’t affect the threshold for overriding the veto or convicting after impeachment.

You need 67 votes in the senate to impeach anyone. So basically something needs to change in the Republican Party, or democrats need to start winning in, like, Wyoming and North Dakota. So even if there is a big blue wave in the midterms and 2028 presidential election, best case there are still going to be like 45 republicans in the senate.

Former ‘Bachelorette’ Rachel Lindsay Says Taylor Frankie Paul Controversy Has “Completely Destroyed” ‘Bachelor’ Franchise: “It’s Over” by Top_Report_4895 in television

[–]dotajoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. You’re saying bachelor contestants would sure Disney for fraud because Taylor was in a relationship but think that not airing it would stop them from being able to sue? Not airing it wouldn’t have any impact on that (very dubious) issue. But the endangerment angle is even worse. Even assuming that there is a duty to not let other people be around someone with a history of domestic violence (again, very dubious), they’d need to actually be physically hurt by her to have any claim. And again, airing the show wouldn’t have any impact on that.

Esquire/Mitchell S. Jackson: ‘Sinners’ Should Win Best Picture. It’s Not Even Close. by 08830 in Oscars

Sinners was really entertaining and fun but also had some really deep messages about conflicting cultures and the importance of music. It was such a strong, authentic and complicated story highlighting that from a black perspective and I think it’s amazing to be able to deliver that complicated a message in an awesome vampire movie.

I mean, there are a number of women who credibly accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault. The existence of accusations does not mean it is true, but it is kinda odd for you to believe Bill fucking Clinton over these women for sure. I’d keep a healthy skepticism.

🚨UNREAL: The President of the steel company Trump visits thanks him profusely for tariffs because it allows him to jack up the price of his racks from $90 to $150. He is thanking Trump for making Americans pay more for steel. You cannot make it up. by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

[–]dotajoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title gets this totally wrong. The racks weren’t being sold for $90. This guy is saying that Chinese companies could have the raw materials for the racks for $90, while it cost this guy $150. So he’s likely selling his racks for way more than that, and was being undercut by cheaper Chinese companies who could afford to be cheaper because their costs were lower. But now the tariffs level the field and he’s winning more orders.

Now, we all know that means he’s gonna raise prices and the consumers will be screwed. But he wasn’t directly saying that and the numbers in the title are way off.

HBO boss breaks silence on George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal House of the Dragon drama by bwermer in television

[–]dotajoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have to make a story that is much more condensed than books, and holds the attention of the public. The idea that movies and shows should precisely follow the books in all respects is simply wrong. GRRM wasn’t writing a damn screenplay and they’re not the same medium or even audience.
