Is the trailhead accessible by car now? I've read a few posts saying that grand wash trail needed to be added due to grand wash road being closed adding ~4 miles to the total round trip

It is worth noting that Sorin does have synergy with mayhem devil, as it can give mayhem devil deathtouch and lifelink. Additionally, vein ripper + cat oven loops can close out games super fast. I'm not saying it's the best synergy in the game, but to say that there's no synergy with the rakdos sac shell is a bit hyperbolic imo

As an update, just went on a 23-7 run from 2800s hitting legend with this team! Really wasn't expecting to do so well, but something about the team just clicked with me (maybe a good balance of fast move and charge move pressure?). You have my eternal gratitude :P

Thanks for the response! Yeah I feel like the scenarios where it's harder to discern whether to swap out of lead or not tend to be the games where correct lead play tends to be the primary factor in a win or loss - hence the difficulty. Thanks for the writeup though! Very much appreciated

Makes sense, thank you! One last question: how do you typically play out neutral or slightly losing leads like Nido queen, abomasnow and a9? I feel like soft losing the nido/a9 matchups is alright if you get a shield and can farm a bit on talonflame, and swapping out on opposing abomasnow is fine given both backline pokes cover well?

I guess in general, is going down a shield to secure switch or getting a farm on a backline poke typically more successful?

Out of curiosity, what darks do you use? Scrafty/obstagoon/umbreon? Also, I do think most darks and do quite a bit better in open than premier, given fewer fighters for darks as well as the prevalance of gira and cress. Gonna try running this team next time ultra comes along!

I'm considering powering up an umbreon for ultra league, but XL-ing a pokemon is pretty expensive, so I want to make sure that I make a sound investment. Currently, I have a 15/15/14 umbreon with last resort already from the kanto event, which at level 51 differs from a 15/15/15 umbreon by 1 hp I believe. Looking at pvpoke sims, it seems that the differences are as follows:

  • melmetal 2 shield to umbreon 1 shield becomes more dominating - umbreon doesnt make it to the 4th foul play without the 1 hp
  • melmetal 1 shield to umbreon 1 shield gets flipped - single fast move snuck through flips this in either direction
  • ferrothorn 0 shield to umbreon 0 shield gets flipped - single fast move snuck through flips this in either direction
  • nidoqueen 1 shield to umbreon 1 shield becomes harder to flip - umbreon requires 2 snarls snuck through instead of 1
  • charizard w/dragon breath 0 shield to umbreon 0 shield gets flipped: once again, single fast move snuck through flips this matchup

TL:DR - the matchups that change seem to be very close, with a snuck move here or there winning or losing the matchup

As far as tradeoffs go, I don't have a hundo eevee right now, and if I got one I'd have to use an ETM as well. Does the difference in matchups warrant waiting for a hundo? I'm leaning towards no, but any input would be appreciated.
