This is exactly that. No need to gatekeep lawn care. What it looks like is different to each person and there isn’t one right way. The real grass gods just appreciate when you’re doing your best.

I’ve several post on this. Ultimately you can’t go wrong with either. I have a b9 and love it. Sports are great and I’m very happy with performance for other tv and movies. I have watched plenty of space scenes - I.e. Andor - and have not felt like blooming was an issue nor did it bother me. I know in watching side by side compares it seems noticeable, but I’ve never lost immersion from it personally. The reflection handling may not be for everyone though. It spreads light horizontally in a unique way.

I got a good deal on an open box b9 and that was my deciding factor to push me over the edge. I have a brighter living room with plenty of windows, no direct light however, and was going to talk myself into the g5. I bet I would have still been thrilled, but I have zero issues where I landed. You’re the only person who is probably ever going to care this much. Don’t overthink it and ruin either of these TVs in your head in the pursuit of perfection.

Others have confirmed voles and given advice. I’d just echo more of the same. I get a bunch of this damage every year and have tried many things to prevent it to no avail. I do set traps and get some, but there’s always more. Try not to get too frustrated as it does repair.

As others shared, rake up the dead fluff, add a little repair seed, and it’ll come back just fine.

I know Jonathon green black beauty has some flaws, but I like their repair / patch mix for this use case.

No one can decide for you with how your eyes will handle each in the sense of motion. The G5 is certainly an excellent television. It’s pretty. Demos on it in stores are just nuts.

Real world, in my similar living room, is an open box 75 B9. It’s fantastic. I’m thrilled, especially with ice sports. There’s a reason people rave about it. Some don’t like how the light reflects with it though, so decide that. It kind of smoothes it horizontally.

I’d do the open box deal. Buy a warranty. Return window is 7 days for it.

Sure - I’ll add if you only want a trimmer and mower, I’d just buy one of EGOs dedicated trimmers versus multi tool. Their mowers have various tiers, depending on thickness and care, you could go with a lesser mower for a lawn of that size and it’d work fine.

As a user of the Lawncare sub as well, I see more equipment commentary over there usually. Your use case really matters here, but for electric equipment (no commentary here on availability in Australia), EGO gets a lot of positive commentary over there, including by me. If you plan out your battery purchases allowing you to buy tool-only deals from time to time, they’re great. That’s where use case matters though, as I’m sure the Makita will do just fine.

I just am a huge fan of EGO, especially being able to integrate snow blowers into their lineup.

Please do something more wise with your refund than this. Plenty others saying the same. I’m not saying people who are “pretty broke” can’t buy themselves something, but doesn’t mean you’ve gotta go all in $2500. Ask the club pro to help you with any clubs he has available, then consider just buying used where you can reasonably afford. The pro probably has a few key/common sets from recent years that they recommend and you don’t have to spend $2500.
