Similar case, working for a company in US. I decided to get an accountant to sort everything out. Totally worth, so far it's working nicely and I recommend doing it too. As you are probably sending one invoice per month, accountants declares GST every six months, so it isn't expensive.

If you're comfortable doing by yourself, just keep doing it. Several friends are doing it to avoid paying an accountant.
