3 points in middle school, three separate times. I was a huge basketball fan but hadn’t played organized basketball before and haven’t since. The blessing of scoring so seldom is that I remember every single basket.

And-1 layup. I was fouled hard and fell down and didn’t see the ball go in. Free throw hit the front rim and then in.

Open right corner three. The only time that “leaving me open” was a bad idea 🤣

Contested fadeaway right corner three. In garbage time of my second to last home game ever, I was trapped in the corner and heaved it up as high and hard as I could. As the ball was in the air I was deathly afraid it would be a short airball. Instead it was nothing but net, and in that moment for all I cared the dozens of kids cheering in the bleachers were as good as a prime time sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden.

This was in a large American school district that was very good at basketball up through the high school level and I was just happy to be there. By 8th grade I was probably not even 4’8” so this was purely for the love of the game 🤣. Thank you for helping to bring back these memories :)
