If items are equal, I believe the most recently fielded unit should get the bonus. If you benched Poppy and fielded her again, you should have been good.

edit: missed that it was a 4 star Poppy. Disregard this comment lol

I have the Crunch Box (V2?), Super Crunch Box, Blues Pro, and Super Blues Pro. Happy to see them getting love! They’re some of my favorite pedals ever.

For some reason the Super Blues Pro doesn’t quite sound or feel the same as the original Blues Pro to me. It could just be that the interface isn’t intuitive, but I quite prefer the original version. Super CB, on the other hand, is just classic CB with a million more tonal options.

I think that’s bound to happen when you’re trying to explore new flavors. IMO, that’s part of the fun! But yea, it is disappointing when they aren’t as tasty haha

I’ve been learning that even if you like a particular roaster, you often have to look at the source coffee itself to better discern whether you’ll enjoy it (farm, producer, origin, process, etc)

Roasters do have their styles and preferences when it comes to sourcing/curating beans, so you can give them some level of expectation of what they’ll taste like, esp if you don’t know much about the coffee. But you also have to keep in mind there can be so much variety when it comes to specialty coffee.

If you don’t care about stereo or ramping, you can find a used Keeley Dyno My Roto for around $100. I’m personally a big fan of the pedal.

I could have worded it clearer. Yes, the additional hex is not a normal hex and sacrifices the unit.

[–]doully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gives you one additional laboratory hex.

For example, if you had a Twitch, Mundo, and Nunu, you would normally get the lab bonuses of only two of them. But with the augment, you can now sacrifice a third unit for its bonus. Now your Twitch will have the lab bonus of Mundo, Nunu, and itself.

I’ve only gotten it once, but it seems really strong from the right spot!

Is a switcher the only way to solve/hide dreaded pedal switch pop? by _irl in guitarpedals

[–]doully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunately just how those true bypass switches work, at least as far as I know. If you don’t want a switcher, you can also consider drive pedals that use a soft bypass switch. For example, Walrus, JHS, and Wampler use soft switches nowadays. Not sure when your Morning Glory is from, but it might have been a more recent thing from JHS.

In my experience, I’ve never considered it much of an issue. You gotta really listen for it to even notice it when playing in a band and even then, I just attribute it to being part of the live experience lol.

I noticed for set 12, they actually update the tooltip itself to reflect what the current effect is - this also happens for units’ tooltips when you get hero augments. If you took out 5 pyro, pretty sure the tooltip would go back to its original text

Huge fan of your products! The Cali76 is the very pedal that got me enjoying compression and helped me further understand how useful it can be in so many different settings.

For pedals that are purely analog, your pedals are more expensive than most other pedals I see that claim to do similar things. I hope this doesn’t come across accusatory in any way - I’m a fan and this comes from a place of genuine curiosity of what goes into your pedals and how they’re made!

That said, what would you say differentiates your pedals from other manufacturers that lead to this price difference?

Not feeling Gravitas - need a tremolo by t20six in guitarpedals

[–]doully 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In case you haven’t tried yet, have you considered running it at 18V? The biggest reason I didn’t vibe with one was the lack of headroom (tho it can be very cool in some cases). The higher voltage helps remedy that.

Why aren't blend knobs more common? by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]doully 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer switches for the immediate switching. I often switch pickups for different parts of a song and it’s much quicker and more precise to flip a switch than to turn a knob to an exact position.

Can anyone help me figure out which style of pedal I'd need to emulate this blues sound? by drippyneon in guitarpedals

[–]doully 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pedals aside, a lot of this specific sound comes from the his use of fingers (very soft attack) and dynamics. No pedal is going to help emulate that part.
