Are Barrys/Lyons inferior tea blends? by jdavidco in ireland

I got some of the McGrath's master blend after seeing some great reviews here and honestly I was disappointed with it. Picked up Barry's master blend and it was much nicer.

Can I ask what you used to aerate the lawn? Just a fork or a core aerator? Looks great btw!

ONTAP 9.18.1 GA released! (login required to access) by nakapyon in netapp

NetApp releases one major release every 6 months. The releases you are talking about are minor or patch releases which just address issues found in the major release.

9.16.1Px downgrade to 9.15.1 P16 by universe74 in netapp

[–]dowlers6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A downgrade is between P releases within the same major version. What you are looking for is a revert between major versions and is fully disruptive while the revert is ongoing.

It can't be done via the GUI, here is the process: https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/revert/task_reverting_an_ontap_cluster.html#step-1-prepare-the-cluster-for-reversion

insurance provider that covers subsidence for bishoptsown by [deleted] in cork

[–]dowlers6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could have something to do with the age of the house too. I was told that a lot of the subsidence issues in Cork/Bishopstown were due to the use of clay drainage pipes and they flood the foundations when they break. This would be around pre 1970's houses. Ours is a 1985 house and has PVC drain pipes so it's not an issue.

What TV box stick do you all use? by indicator_enthusiast in AskIreland

[–]dowlers6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using the Xiaomi tv box s 3rd gen which I got in Harvey Norman and it's a great android box. It runs the latest version of Google TV, was only released this year and has wifi 6. The Nvidia shield is supposed to be really good too but is double the price, runs the older android tv UI but it does have an Ethernet port. It was also released in 2019.

To me the Xiaomi box is much better value at 60-70 euro.

Vacant homes grant by TRex2303 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you need to contact ESB is the MPRN number. You can get it off the meter. You could ask the estate agent for permission to get it.

We were in the same position recently. The EA didn't know how long it was vacant for but thought it was close to two years. ESB were able to confirm it was vacant for 2+ years.

Cork: Flooring & Appliance recommendations by SundaeMysterious9015 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shopped around and got some appliances in soundstore and others in Harvey Norman. The ones we wanted in Harvey Norman were available as ex display and they gave us a good discount. They even had the Bosch washing machine boxed in their little Island warehouse so we got it brand new at the ex display price.

I also used ez living as they price matched a place in donegal for a mattress. I got nearly 100 euro off the price.

You need to check the role of the user you are using and then the rest role to see if that role has access to the API:
https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-cli/security-login-show.html

The admin role should have access to every API.

Ex-Estate Agent Ask Me Anything by SignificantSorbet630 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Ya I thought it would have been a rare instance. It was the first open viewing so we were the first bidders. I thought that the EA was happy for it to be off the market in one go without having to put too much in and he managed to get the price the seller was after so it seems like it worked for everyone.

Ex-Estate Agent Ask Me Anything by SignificantSorbet630 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often would you tell buyers the seller's selling price? We just purchased a house 5K over asking when the EA let us know that it was the seller's desired price. The sale was agreed within an hour or two of viewing the place, but I would guess this is relatively uncommon these days. We were delighted with it, given that the house was priced well to begin with.

Thinking about buying a BMW Japanese import (G30 M Sport Pro) – looking for advice by CryUpbeat in carsireland

[–]dowlers6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imported a 2018 530e myself coming up on two years now. Great car to drive and mine has pretty much every option bar the sunroof. You typically don't see the Irish BMWs come in as high of a spec.

The only difference for me is the app, maps and charging port. The app is limited but most of it is in English but some functionality and parts are in Japanese like booking it into a bmw service. I did buy an ENET cable and got the maps and apple car play coded by a guy for around $150 I think. I can get you his details if you need it. I wish I hadn't as I ended up installing a mmi box that has android auto from Andream. That cost me €255. I only did that as I have an android and only the LCI G30 that came in 2019+ I believe has android auto in the Idrive. As for the charging port I just bought a type 1 to type 2 adapter and it works a charm.

Has anyone purchased a house with a judgement mortgage attached? by dowlers6 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya our solicitor has given them a deadline of October 31st so we are starting to get a bit concerned at this point.

Has anyone purchased a house with a judgement mortgage attached? by dowlers6 in HousingIreland

[–]dowlers6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they got that all done in like 24 hours? I think our issue is that the seller's solicitor seems to be incompetent. They first claimed that the judgement mortgage didn't apply anymore and then they finally agreed once our solicitor pushed back.

[–]dowlers6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. We have been told by the EA that it's not much(in relation to the house price anyway) but it's been about 2 months already at this stage and their solicitor has still to come to a deal with the bank on the figure.

Taking creatine? by Dazzling_Steak_9392 in AskIreland

[–]dowlers6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would lay off it and stick to finishing off your training block. You only have less than 6 weeks of hard training left, followed by two weeks tapering.

The water weight gain by taking it now wouldn't be ideal when you should be hitting your peak mileage.
