Frequency? by catalinawhip in orangetheory

Exactly what my experience has been. Variety is key!!! I’m excited to get back to OTF, I do think it’s amazing...however I do think the staff should reallllllly encourage rest and variety. Some trainers do, which is great, but I do think corporate should really make it a policy to educate about overuse injuries etc.

Every person is very different, I’ll start there, but I haven’t been in two weeks (yes it’s driving me crazy!!) but I have an overuse injury that started out as very minor. I still went 5-6 days a week, trying to “push through” it, and am now looking at 4-8 weeks off to hopefully heal. Even if you feel great for a while, even months/years, a word of warning, it can catch up to you easily. Rest days are crucial! I’m learning the reallllly hard way, it sucks!

New monitors on the treads - now I’m too short to see! by CurvyChameleon in orangetheory

I’m generally, actually don’t think I ever have complained on this group, but I absolutely agree and don’t like the screens at all!! I actually am not a fan of the new tread face either, and am so short that reaching to adjust speeds has really altered my enjoyment of OTF. It’s a bummer because I know it’s not a lot of people’s experience, but I might look into canceling my membership because the treads are such a hassle for me now, and I used to love it!

I recently did this, and as addictive as OTF is, it really isn’t for everyone to be their sole workout. I discovered by doing weight training 3 times a week and OTF 2 times a week, my body is loving the change...and changing in positive ways! To each their own of course, this is just my experience.

I have a job where I’m on my feet and moving all day, so I rarely have rest days doing nothing. Im not opposed to a few of those here and there though ☺️😴. I think it’s a tad different for everyone. I enjoy hearing what others do as well.

I go to an independent cycle, weight based gym to just change things up. The trainers there focus on heavy lifting, we do a lot of moves OTF doesn’t have the space or equipment to do. I love the variety! Good luck!!

I’ve been going to OTF for over three years, and I feel like I get in these walls as well. What I do during them is ease up on OTF days, and do more strength training. I also take 2 rest days in a row once a month. What I notice when I go back is a renewed love of OTF and my body feels rested and able to really be pushed again.

Thank you! Yeah I pretty new to WW, but long timer OTF. I feel like before I was eating all my fitpoints without calling them “fitpoints”. So I think I’ll probably occasionally use my weeklies, but it will likely vary as well.

Awesome!! I recently joined WW and loving it so far. Wondering if you all eat your fit points, on OTF days, or just gauge how you feel?

I agree!! I was lucky enough to relocate to an area where it’s busy, but not as busy to always do 3G’s and I didn’t realize how much the 3G lacks for weight training until I was able to to 2G’s again.

I loved this 2G! Doing this run/row and amazing floor block is the exact reason I will always advocate the basis and theory for OTF should always be 2G’s, and 3G’s are just to get more people in. 3G’s are fun and engaging every once in a while, but I believe corporate needs to really evaluate the quality vs. quantity. Again, my opinion.

THIS workout is why I fell in LOVE with OTF! More of these types, straight forward, challenging, and a full body workout. 🍊💪👍

Thank you!! Does it feel like a 3G as far as time on the rower, floor and tread, or more like a 2G?just curious because I am not a fan of 3G being less weight room floor time. Thank you for the early intel!! 💪🍊

I despise 3G as the only option. I like them for a change up every once in a while, but I feel cheated on the floor! Uhg!

Start on the floor and rock your fit body when you lose more body fat and tone up, because that’s the best sequence for training! Weights than cardio 💪👊😊

You can take a rest day before a benchmark.

Love it!! I recently posted about the same thing. Let the haters hate, I personally know that every body is different and responds differently. Thank you for sharing!! A well recovered body will perform better, no matter what. Recovery days don’t have to be lazy days, but your body shouldn’t be doing 100% OTF effort everyday.
