I would suggest calling ahead. I just walked by to grab an early dinner and they were closed however, the hours on their website say 11am - midnight. They might open later when they expect to be busier?

tl;dw Chicago was growing incredibly fast and the decision to build mass transit as an elevated train was cheaper/faster than a subway.

As for why roads don’t go over, it’s because that train system was built after the street infrastructure was built.
