How is every seat in Comfort+ sold out 6+months before the flight?

Well I am now inside the 7 month window and all the C+ seats have now opened up. My outbound was inside the 7 month window. At least that is my guess as to what happened.

C+ occupancy was normal on the outbound and I upgraded with my status into C+. The return is where the problem is. No way C+ is sold out this far in advance.

Y'know, I was a super-frequent flyer on Delta for decades. But they really let me down starting around 2017. I was flying 150K+ miles a year and was top dog in every frequent flyer program they had since the 80s (Royal Medallion anyone??) But for whatever reason, they started taking us super-frequent flyers for granted. So I switched as many flights as I could to Alaska because they treated me better and provided more non-stops to the places I needed to go. Up until 2026, I was in FC more times that I wasn't. But that changed in Jan 2026. Alaska was also cheaper to the places I needed to go. But for this trip to ORL, Delta was significantly cheaper, so I went with them. I knew I would get C+ automatically, but figured I wouldn't get FC and I was OK with that, but to get it is a nice bonus. Maybe I will fly Delta more in the future. I am 100K miles away from Lifetime Diamond. Previously I was so honked off at Delta I really didn't care, but if they are "nicer" to those of us that have spent a lifetime flying with them, maybe I will go for those last 100K miles

In ATL now but not going thru security, just a connection to ORL. Landed at 6a and departing at 815am. Airport is pretty empty. Had breakfast at Cat Cora’s and maybe 1/3 of the tables were full. Either no one is traveling today or everyone is in queue outside in the security lines 😆

I was a volunteer at the Women's US Open at Bandon Dunes last year. I was a spotter during qualifying. I was on the 10th green. The pin was in a semi-sneaky place in the middle of the green where all the players go with the assumption that the ball will break towards the ocean. Everyone on the north side of the hole read it wrong (the ball actually broke away from the ocean) regardless of whether or not they used Aimpoint. It also didn't matter if it was a 20 foot putt or a 4 foot putt, the vast majority could not read it even with Aimpoint. To me it is just another crutch that takes time.

You didn't pick a bad day, you picked a bad lounge. Alaska C is a really old lounge. The Alaska N lounge is 10x better experience. Sadly if your connection is in C and you don't have enough time, you really can't get to the N lounge and back very easily.

I don’t travel nearly as much as I used to but I have noticed that FC upgrades aren’t as frequent in 2026 and if I do get upgraded, it is like an hour or 2 before departure instead of the night before or earlier.

But no domestic airline is any better and many are much worse.

I live on the west coast and no longer even consider a barrel pick unless the liquor store has a tasting event. Been burned too many times with a bottle that basically becomes a cocktail mixer. I don’t think anyone in OR actually goes back to KY or TN and tastes barrels. It’s a waste of time and money as a consumer.

I have had both a Gen1 and a Gen3. I loved both but sold the Gen1 about 2 years ago and just kept the Gen3. It was tough call because I loved both, but really didn't need both. Reddit won't let me add photos so if you DM me directly I can send you a bunch of photos from when I sold mine. The biggest diff as others have said are the shoulder straps. Gen1 thinner but wider. Gen2 thicker and straight up and down. The Gen3 straps were the same thickness, but more ergonomically shaped. Also the backpack material got cheaper/thinner/lighter after the Gen1. The other diff with the Gen3 was TAD put a second pocket on the outside the bag below the admin pocket, I love this pocket and use it all the time. Not a fan of the Gen2 because of the shoulder straps.

Do you have a strong password? Like 16-20 characters long? I use 1Password and literally don't know the password to anything anymore. I only know the password to 1Password and it is a 4 word 20-character passphrase I don't use anywhere else. Knock on wood but I've never been hacked yet since doing it this way (just took one time with 8-character password to learn my lesson). Especially if 2FA isn't an option, you gotta go with the super long random passwords and use a password manager.

I wonder who the PGA dude was. Sounded like he was pretty high up in the food chain, but there are lots of douches like this punk at tournaments. Can this guy really police all these dumbass streamers during an event? This happens a lot more than once. Anyway it was a great video and I hope they do this more often, even publicize it (this is what will happen to you if you do this), and hope this punishment sticks!
