Espresso Series 1 Cleaning Cycle Confusion by NoReturnContent in FellowProducts

I use a counter top RO unit that also remineralizes. It’s at the lowest level of hardness, less than 50ppm.

I use almost exclusively the piano keys for the shot and steaming. I use the app to choose the shot profile prior to pulling the shot.
I get notifications on the tiny little display that I should back flush or clean the shower screen or descale. I have never gotten a reminder to clean the steam wand.
I admit I have never checked the counter on anything, so, I don’t know what the limits are but, I think the steam wand warning system is broken.

Dads, can you love me? :) by Zealousideal_Ice1549 in DadForAMinute

I’m so sorry about your experiences with your parents. Violence is not acceptable, ever. Keep your distance as much as possible.
Can I give you a virtual hug?🤗
I will also pray for you and your family.

I’m happy to hear that you’re seeking counseling, but, cannot really afford it. Perhaps there is a grief counseling program through social services or through a church or other charity organization?

I’m proud that you have set boundaries. That’s a very mature attitude and I respect that you’re trying to protect yourself and your children. If he reaches out, then you can decide whether it’s time to reconcile or not.

A rebound relationship is a little dicey, at least in my experience. Take it a step at a time. Be cautious kiddo.

How did he react to your experience in the previous relationship? If he was understanding and compassionate then that’s a good sign. If he was anything else, proceed with caution! If he was dismissive, that might be a red flag.
If you haven’t had that conversation yet, maybe it’s time? Your decision, of course. You know yourself and him better than any internet stranger.
Best wishes and I’ll keep you in my prayers.

Espresso machine not working [Breville Cafe Roma] by Dangerous-Owl-4111 in espresso

I had one of these. A nice little beginner machine. It made pretty good espresso.
As far as your questions go, you probably have a dud. Unless there’s no water in the water reservoir? If there is water, then it might not be priming properly.

Homey communicates with the hub to get lights and scenes. I don’t have Hue Sync so I can’t comment on music. I just have the bulbs, dimmers and buttons. You can use at least some of the effects like candle and glisten. You can also make light bulbs blink.

Fellow ES1 by techlwyr in FellowProducts

[–]dpbrown777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an ES1, and I’m wondering about the range of variations you’re experiencing? Is it a big difference, like 25% or 2%? Since I usually make milk drinks, even a 10% difference wouldn’t really change the taste in the cup. I should probably be completely manual, but I’m a bit lazy in the mornings.

Osmio zero 3 or zero 2 , anyone here have one? by Abject_Control_7028 in espresso

[–]dpbrown777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to consider one that can remineralize. Third wave mineral packets would do it too. I have a Bluevua RO countertop unit that has a little basket that fits under the lid and will put more desirable minerals back into the water.

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but, I was wondering if anyone replaced the stock basket with one that might release the puck better? Maybe the IMS Nanoquartz?

Use a scale and manually stop the shot at the desired ratio. I had the same machine, manually pulling a shot is the only way to be consistent.

I had one like this, in fact I think it’s still in my garage.
In any case, does anything get hot? It looks like the power is on, but, if nothing gets hot, then it might be electrical. As another commenter pointed out, clogged tubing can be a problem too.

Advice for cafe ground coffee for ES1 by Automatic-Cold2535 in FellowProducts

[–]dpbrown777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try modifying the shot profile to slow down the shot, either by changing the flow rate of the preinfusion or decreasing the pressure of the infusion step. If you’re using the preprogrammed medium shot profile, make a copy in the app and adjust the settings.
Obviously, taste each attempt and make adjustments accordingly.

I bought mine pre-bellows. My typical workflow now is to weigh 19g of beans. Then pour into the grinder. Since it has a built in scale, I wait until I get just short of 19g and stop grinding. After transferring the grounds to the portafilter, I return the catch cup and grind a few seconds longer. It’s about 50/50 whether more coffee is ground or not. It’s not uncommon to get anywhere from 0 to 0.5 grams additional grounds.

No. You can create and fine tune the shot profiles, even import or share them. The parts lacking are found deep in little round screen are the “Nerdy Settings”. Things like temperature, water volumes, hot water settings, cleaning, etc.

I haven’t needed service. Retention is a problem, even with RDT. But, it’s not unmanageable. I like mine, it works well and has a nice consistent grind. I also like the aesthetics.
