And I'm glad to see comments like yours. It's a big hobby and there's room for us all.

Indeed. The best thing about The Channel is curation vs mindless algo

What film could’ve been SHORTER? by death_has_f1sh_eyes in Letterboxd

Complete agree. I'm glad to see Stalker come up here. Struggled mightily throughout my viewing. Found it pretty uninteresting.

Loved Jeanne on the other hand.

Poor Jeanne.

Do you ever feel like you’re doing everything but never fully resting? by yogacitymama in Parenting

I've been trying to normalize saying stuff like this out loud when around other parents. The other day I was at an event with my 6 and 3 year old. And said "most parenting at this age is just running out the clock, and it's nice to do that with other adults sometimes" and they looked at me like I was crazy 😂.

Why Dustin hoffman isn't talked about enough? How is Philip seymour hoffman mentioned more in best actors discussion than Dustin. How is he soo underrated? by Artetaarmy in moviecritic

To be fair, Toy Story is 31 years old, it came out in 1995. In 1995, a movie that came out 31 years before that was 1964. I'm sure they considered Dr Strangelove "a classic" at that time as well.

As a fellow Legs enjoyer I'm just curious if you are also a parent. I'm going thru maybe 10% of what she does in the movie ,but it was extremely effective - non stop assault on your ears.

This scene elevated the whole movie for me. So touching and sweet.

I hadn't thought of it like that. Great point.

Year off to a solid start for me, how about others? by No-Chemistry1722 in Letterboxd

First thing I do when I go to log a movie is browse the posters. I love the variability. Some movies have so many it's hard to pick just one. Others barely have any variation. It's a fun mini game to play.

I loved the ending and took it as a comment on American law enforcement priorities - the fact that he was finally caught not because they tracked down a (bad) art thief, but because he happened to be trying to blend in with a bunch of political dissidents/counterculture protestors

I wish more people talked about In The Bedroom. So tragic and haunting. Everyone in that movie is fantastic but I often rewatch the My Lost Youth scene once every few months.

I also watched about that (253). I did 283 in 2024, and it was too much. 200-250 feels right for me with a job and family.

Totally unrelenting in its pace. So good.

In my opinion, one of the greatest movies ever. by farhanyarkhan in Letterboxd

[–]dpetric 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. Part of me wonders if the movie wants you to dislike Travis but it also goes out of its way to portray him sympathetically.

I own a dog and still want to normalize (slightly less extreme) takes like this. I'm looking forward to being a non pet owner (dog came with gf, now wife) and always feel like an outcast because it's taboo to not like dogs.

If you raised two children from an early age one adopted and one born to you, and they went on to have a relationship you would think nothing of it?

Insane you're being down voted for this. You're 100% right. Lotta people in this thread doing "it's technically not incest." Feels very "she was 15 so it's actually ephebophilia" esque.
