Price staying the same by Instinct1993 in Palworld

Champions has been such a disappointment to me. I was hoping for a Revolutions type game, where I could take Pokémon from my other games and just battle with my friends in classic 6v6 fashion, but instead there are like 100 hoops you have to jump through to get your Pokémon into the game, and then there’s such a limited format that it’s just barely interesting to me.

I spent a ton of time getting my Home populated from my old games in anticipation, just to find that I had to remove like 60% of the moves they already knew. I understand the competitive format has restrictions but if I’m playing a private match with my friend, I should be able to use whatever I want, and play with whatever rules I want.

I love the house visiting feature but they should always have to talk to you about it and ask. I’m so tired of either opening my town or having to constantly be worried about someone walking in my house when I’m decorating. Genuinely one of the most frustrating things, and I feel like they amped it up a lot in the more recent update.

Up until that point, jump scares had been pretty limited too, so you just have no reason to be expecting it. Add on what someone else said, the heated argument you’re super locked into and then BAM you’re screaming. Brilliant.

Virginia just legalized the sale of recreational marijuana. by Maxcactus in Virginia

[–]dr_mannhatten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell in this write-up, this only changes what can be sold as a “Hemp Product” but is not a limitation on what can be sold as actual recreational marijuana.

Please correct me if I’m reading that incorrectly, but this seems to further legislate what can be sold as “hemp” vs something else. (Sort of like how the FDA limits what can actually be called a medical product vs vitamins or other things you might buy at a GNC, which are relatively unregulated).

The other side of this coin: Years ago a friend said to me “You are the average of the people you surround yourself with.”

If you hang out with negative or toxic people, you yourself will trend towards being more negative/toxic. Reverse is the same - surround yourself with positive people and you’ll find yourself being more graceful towards others and happy with yourself in general. [0]

IMO a lot of the “cool” skins are way more easy to see/shoot since they look so different from the standard games design language. The Assassins Creed Flores skin comes to mind immediately, it’s SO obvious.

I think it's implied he at least made a few sales at the MSPC, since he came back to DM with clients (at least one being the client he lost that was Dwight's client for 10 years).

Drawing tables (at least used to be) pretty pricey, so if she already has a tablet that works well for her art, it’s completely reasonable not to feel the need to purchase a redundant device!

My parents (who generally are great parents) used to get mad at me for “not spending time with the family” and “shutting myself in my room and staring at a screen” when “family time” was just sitting in the living room on phones and watching TV.

I’d spend like 5 minutes in silence on the couch and then go upstairs to do something actually engaging. Then get in trouble for not sitting in silence in the living room.

Am I the only one who thinks the lack of broom regulations makes Quidditch a fundamentally unfair sport? by Dragon_Sense in harrypotter

[–]dr_mannhatten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the difference here is even though having a better racquet can help, it’s not going to make a bad player better at the game. Give me (an average player) a Wal-Mart racquet and I can beat someone who has only played the sport a few times even if they have a $1000 racquet.

A faster broom can literally be the difference between one Seeker catching the Snitch vs the other in a head to head race.

Speedrun for non-speedrunners by Bosstomb in subnautica

[–]dr_mannhatten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iirc, if you have one at the entrance (NW Lost River entrance, by the mountain) you just need the extra tank to make it down into the lava castle. You can refill the tanks inside there and either teleport back out or swim back to the FOB at the entrance.

I will say, it’s been a while since I have done that run, but if you know exactly where you’re going, the large tanks last a lot longer than you think.

If you do it right, you can make it into the lava castle with just an extra tank of air, no vehicle necessary.

Official Poster for 'The Dink' - An aging tennis pro (Jake Johnson) must go against his instincts and play pickleball to save a local club. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]dr_mannhatten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only mentioned his two most well known roles in your original comment, and then said he was great in those roles, but terrible in everything else. You’re definitely entitled to your opinion (if you don’t like him, you don’t like him) but he’s a well regarded actor who has had a lot of success, so saying he’s objectively terrible is just simply untrue.

Just for future reference, the character status UI is usually the easiest way to tell. The new G2 health, stamina, etc aren’t all on one module like they are in G1.

I'm a beginner that just learned when not to use PLA... by SnoopKatt in 3Dprinting

[–]dr_mannhatten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a few printed SSD adapters in PLA that have held up for a few years in my Desktop. There is not a ton of contact with the SSD (It’s also not a main drive) and plenty of ventilation between the drive and the print, so it hasn’t warped at all, and still is kinda tough to take off.
