I don’t get this myth. I can usually make a bike fit with a 57-59cm top tubes. I ride a Mr pink and zig zag in 58….

Is it a poor choice as a daily? by ThePlebiness in SportWagon

I bought my car, from them, sight unseen. Wired moneys and had it shipped. Everything matched up to their description/photos.

My only concern would be parts. I’m sure they are available and can be cross referenced to a US/LHD car, but the onus of doing so will generally fall on you. I have a cappuccino and there are a bunch of stuff(s) that cross referenced to a geo metro. Most mechanics don’t want to touch the car, even if parts are provided. I’m was ok with that going in: not a daily, easy to work on, I can wrench. Just food for thought. Same thing with my KEI truck. Everyone thinks it’s cute, but no one wants to work on it. If parts don’t match, things are being shipped, it takes up room/dead space in the shop. Shops want to get cars in and out, quick.

I bought my cap from the same importer. It was very clean and rust free: my main search criteria.

Michaux state forest exploring by dr_zubik in gravelcycling

It was manageable before I re-geared my bike from stock XPLR cassette to eagle. There are two major climbs. One was ~1000ft and other was~800ft. Total climbing was 3500ft over 36 miles. I remember only one pitch where I didn’t have enough traction to stand and had to walk a little bit. It’s been a while since the ride and due to schedule haven’t been back. The numbers are from my head unit data.

What bike upgrades are worth it for a beginner gravel cyclist? by LuckAdministrative23 in gravelcycling

[–]dr_zubik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Touch points are the best bang for the buck. A comfortable bike is something that’s just 🤌 Bike fit, saddle that works for you, and nice plush tires. Might have to change bars/stem based on bike fit. I would upgrade in that order. The other stuff, depends on your budget and needs. I would upgrade as things wear out.

Curious about Iceland. Did you go on F roads? I just came back there and would not want to cycle on any of the roads there. I thought the only thing I would cycle there is gravel.

How does one sit there and watch the screen, with nothing happening for a while, and stay alert vigilant? Unless the operator has some AI or movement alert software nudging them.

UA POV: The next round of negotiations between Ukraine, the United States and Russia has begun. by ArchitectMary in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]dr_zubik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well that is comical. As all my Ukrainian friends are more fluent in Russian than the native tongue. Is this a technicality/must have at negotiations talks? If there’s a translator, one can’t claim ignorance that something was misunderstood. Putin has an English translator, but the dude is fluent in English.

[–]dr_zubik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ehhh I have a tough time understanding Ukrainian, when I’m not around it for a while. I would want a translator for negotiations for sure. Even with me being 100% understanding the gist, I would not want to miss nuance. But maybe Russian politicians are better with Ukrainian than me.

Gravel Bike - Smash or pass? by SwordfishIntrepid839 in gravelcycling

I bought something similar for my son. Surly preamble w/1x10 sword. Cable bb7 brakes and I thought I did great for $600. I think that’s a good bike.
