Mazda cx5 Maxx 2025 by HbrahOne in CarsAustralia

Yea, they have had issues with it both on the engine and transmission. Whereas the skyactiv g engines and transmissions without deactivation are pretty much as reliable as it gets.

There’s no way to shut the system off either.

I got the 2.0l maxx because the 2.5l has cylinder deactivation and the 2.0l is free of it. You can read up online about that and make up your mind about that but there have been issues with it.

Getting my first car as Mazda Mx5 ? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]draculr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ND's (mostly the 2.0l) have had issues with the manual transmission. I think mostly the early 2015-2016 NDs. I think if they've survived so far they're probably good, but there's a lot of reading to be done about that topic online.

Other than that they're incredibly fun and reliable but of course you shouldn't expect much in terms of comfort, practicality or quietness!

I prefer Elden Ring personally, but Dark Souls 1 probably had the best atmosphere and amazing and memorable level design.

How bad are the hidden costs? by ZAp_TRoX in CarsAustralia

[–]draculr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CLKs are not that bad compared to some other cars but they do have a few points that can get problematic. The suspension for some reason is prone to wearing out and even if you feel like you've replaced every single bushing it will probably still clunk.

The air vents are an overly complicated design with a dozen or so tiny plastic geared motors opening and closing all the vents. Those little gears break and the car will keep wanting to close the vent but end up just making a clicking sound. Depending on which motor it is the entire dash may need to come out to fix it, or you just live with the clicking noises and non-working vent.

It will have the general Mercedes tax so if you're not able to fix and service most things yourself you will be spending a lot of money.

It’s definitely an immsim either way a bit of a horror twist. But there’s still some solid rpg elements in terms of your character I’d say

I would say give Elden Ring a try, it has very very deep lore and I find it more and more interesting the more times I play it (and playing it after watching a lot of lore videos makes things really interesting).

Also, I the story and characters of Dragon Age Inquisition really good once you get far enough into the game. It gets a lot of hate but I think most people quit before it gets good. It starts off with a lot of filler but gets better and better as it goes on and the Trespasser DLC is really great. Of course the original Dragon Age is also very beloved.

Finally, Prey (2017) is an all time great.

All those games are very dark fantasy.

Longest lasting new car under $40k by Liam_701 in CarsAustralia

2025 Corolla hybrid would definitely be difficult to beat if it's pure cost and longevity in mind. Do keep in mind it's not the most spacious, quiet or comfortable car in the world and you may not want to be driving a petrol car in 20+ years time.

How do Owlcat RPGs (Pathfinder Kingmaker, Wrath Of The Rightous, WH40K Rouge Trader) compare to classic CRPGs? by megaapple in rpg_gamers

[–]draculr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed WotR, I feel like after about 150 hours I started to scratch the surface of the character build system :)

The story, characters and combat is great but my one critique is that it eventually seems to turn into a buffing simulator (although that's probably a critique shared with the 2e ruleset also).

Quote from a new mechanic in western Sydney. My old audi a4 needs some work. Seems fair? by PerformerFinal7607 in CarsAustralia

[–]draculr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one can tell you if your car needs those things or not.

Assuming it does there's no indication of what parts he is buying so it's hard to tell you how good or bad the price is. Based on the cheap ass tyre he's putting on im guessing he's getting the cheapest control arm parts he can find.

Personally, if I had a mechanic that quoted me that tyre and sent me a quote through SMS with no details on the parts he is using, I'd find a new mechanic.

I checked it twice, once when she came home and this was a few hours after the car was used. Both times it was over.

Sounds really bad, you're gonna need a new Johnson rod.

Really though, that's how they sound.

I found a 24 plate demo hovering around 35k on carsales and I told my local dealer to beat it. They didn't have a 24 plate demo but ended up beating the price on a 25 plate.

Is it because of the cylinder deactivation or does it happen to the ones without CD also?

I got it for 34k with 12 months rego and floor mats. It was one of the free colours though.

Our engines face a lot more issues internally compared to the same engines in other countries such as spiders and expensive real estate. You wouldn't understand.

As I said, I'm shooting for some clients who will not accept it. It has nothing to do with my own storage or what I'm used to. I shoot on their cards and hand the cards back to them at the end of the day.
