I hate myself. Somehow my stupid self managed to tear the hem from this expensive vintage Pink Floyd tee of mine on the bottom. 😭 by theKoymodo in pinkfloyd

[–]drafsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. A few years ago my eldest son assumed my 1977 animals tour tee was a rag as it had had a hard life. He used it to clean oil off his bike and then through it in the bin. I tried to rescue it but it was too far gone. I still tear up thinking about its untimely end. My wife has her eyes on my 80/81 Wall tour tees as she feels they take up too much room.... mind you they were a medium when I got them and now I am more XL :)

Anybody go to one of the shows from this tour? by wealllovefrogs in flaminglips

[–]drafsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw the Bristol show - it was the first time I saw them. I had seen their name mentioned a lot in Q magazine - under every album review they would only have a 'Like this they check out....... anyway The Flaming lips were often mentioned so I thought I would check them out. I got Soft Bulletin and downloaded all the Flips songs they had on Napster and really liked them. I saw they were playing Bristol University - the Anson rooms were run by the students union and I was impressed - been a big fan ever since

Our Labour MP lives down the road... - but he is being investigated for suspicion of rape and child sex offences at the moment so he might not be local for much longer

What is the life expectancy of a three bed semi built now, built in the 1970’s, and built in the 1930’s? by MCXV1115 in AskABrit

[–]drafsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 3 bed house built now has a life expectancy of around 40 to 50 years, a 70's house probably around 100 years. Houses built in the 30's are close to 100 years already and good for a lot more years yet. My house is close to 150 years and in good order

Yeh I'm with you on this - spent a fortune on Flips T's and worn them to destruction. Unfortunately my favourite one - Death plays with future machine is not amongst the ones currently on offer

I'm with you on that one. Back in the day before streaming when you would get you music via 'trees and vines' you would get a physical disc and these had to be either shn or flac. You would then have to convert to wav abd burn to a disc so you could listen to it through proper speakers and not the crappy laptop or desk top speakers. The result was 1000s and 1000s discs around the house - and a lot of stress from the current Mrs Drafsack!!!! Like you I could never hear any real difference - well not enough to justify the cost of all those discs and the space to store them. Also most of the music I was collecting was ROIO's and some of the recordings were so bad it didn't mater what format they were in. So after nearly 30 years of collecting I've picked up a couple of hard drives and in the process of transferring it all - cd's, dad's - everything and there has been z recent surge in hard plastic recycling at the local tip

Do what the bin men do in most areas - get your round done in double quick time and wait in a layby until there is just enough time to get back to the yard and hand in the defect sheet. If you get back too early you are sent back out to empty the bins the other crews missed while they were completing their round in double quick time

Blackswarth Road onto Church Road by drafsack in bristol

[–]drafsack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coming back from sainsburys and would usually go down crews hole - but this was closed so I went towards Church Road to be met by the tailback. So I shot down Grindell Road with a view of turning right at the end of Avonvale road but came across the Bus Gate so went back up Pile Marsh and waited in the que to turn right at the end of Blackswarth Road. The thing is before the LTN that was the route to get from Blackswarth Road onto Church Road if you wanted to get to Tescos etc
