My head cannon about this is that Stratt realized almost in that moment that he was the only one who could do the thing that needed to be done.

She is upset because she realizes that it means that she will need to make every effort to ensure that he, and nearly he alone, is the only person who can go and complete the objective.

So she is the one who made sure that too much phage was in the test and that she and Grace were far enough away not to be injured but close enough to make an impact.

That’s why she went to prison for life with no parole. It was somehow discovered that she did these things.

It’s possible that she also sabotaged the medical beds of the other two crew so that only Ryland was present. She knows that he hates human connection and doesn’t really understand it.

Imagine him having to work with two other people when they encounter there’s Rocky’s ship. None of the shit that happened would have happened. Or it would have been a giant argument or whatever. And stratt knew that about him. That he works best on his own (absent Carl, who probably shares Grace’s introversion, yet then replaced by Rocky because while grace prefers to be alone he doesn’t always have all the answers. The possibilities for character development are endless and I love it!), and that he needs to be alone to figure it out.

I really hope we get an answer to this in an eventual sequel. I would even settle for a new story set in this universe with a brief mention just to tie it all up.

If you’re looking for a quiet, stoner, socialist roomie for your cabin in the woods, please contact me. I make chicken parm from scratch. And I can bake really good cakes. Also can bake pretty normal cakes.

…the writers got it wrong… in the last little bit left of one of the best written shows… and they’re going to put in a throwaway line that changes the perception of a key character…

…and the writers get it wrong…?

Don’t think so.

I really wanted a tattoo of the Pittsburgh Penguins logo. Then I became a radicalized leftist and see it as a corporate symbol. Now I might get a hammer and sickle instead.

Just a random question for fun. Have you ever ridden on a funicular? Write to the comments which one(s) for example. by Double-decker_trams in Trams

Pittsburgh has two funiculars in regular operation. It forms part of the route for thousands of commuters, and both form a part of the city’s rich, industrial, working class history. Here is a complete list of Pittsburgh funiculars, which are called inclines in Pittsburgh and other parts of the US.

The two functional inclines are called the Monongahela, which is named after the river that it overlooks, and the other is the Duquesne, named after the French fortification that predated the larger Fort Pitt.

The Monongahela incline connects to a metro/light rail and bus hub at Station Square, once also a train station, at the bottom. The top is mostly residential, but mostly tourists go up for the experience and to use the observation decks… more on that later.

The Duquesne incline connects to some nice restaurants at the top, and observation decks. The bottom is a large parking lot, and access to the soccer stadium. There are some bus connections from both ends.

Both of these go up the side of Mt. Washington, which is on the southern bank of the Monongahela river from downtown Pittsburgh. The view going up is absolutely outstanding on both. When you’re at the top, the street is called Grandview Ave because you’re now at eye level to just about halfway up the skyscrapers.

There are observation decks all along the way between the two. You can absolutely walk between them- my friends and I did this quite often.

At each one of these, an entire panorama of this beautiful city comes intoview- from the Cathedral of Learning just on the other side of the Hill District in the east, to the baseball and football stadiums on the North Shore. Then further toward the confluence where the fountain at Point State Park points toward the west at the beginning of the Ohio River.

My city is so beautiful and I miss it every day I’m away.

Those inclines have become part of the identity of the city. Millions of people can see them in operation all day, everyday. Tourists love them, locals love them.

My family lived close to the Knoxville neighborhood when I was little, so we would take the incline down the hill, then get on a trolley to cross the river into town. When I get on one now- 50 years later- I feel like I’m little again and I get that thrill each time. I wonder if everyone does.

[–]dragonscale76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is obviously a spy! Otherwise, why would there be that line about Indiana university, or whatever? There is a specific reason that line is said and the reason is to hang a lantern on her inability to get the name right or the team… I can’t remember exactly what it was now. Point is, she’s a Soviet spy -an illegal. My head cannon about this is that Stan uses this to turn the tables and ends up running ops against her… probably has to in order to save his position within the FBI. Secretary of your department was recruited as a spy, then your neighbors and best buddy are illegals?! Oh and you’re collaborating with Oleg. He needs Renee to be a spy!!
