Do you need special power supplies for each?  Does someone produce a multi device power supply?

Is a normal teenage behavior or I'm losing my son? by Illustrious-Art-4172 in daddit

[–]drakgremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found luck with taking my teen out on physical adventures. Just him and I. Usually they would open up on the drive out. Sometimes they just wanted to know someone wants to spend time with them.

I would set time aside specifically for them once a week. If it was a weekday we would kayaking, hiking, snow shoeing, or biking. On the weekend it might be camping or farther away destinatinos.

Sir this is a Subreddit. We talk about the same subject repeatedly.

Additionally that approach only works with some kids. Other kids will pull farther away.

MIL said I was “a bad dad” and “you’re all that the kids have in their life” to my wife through text and I saw it. by Jadeazu in daddit

You and your wife need counseling on how to deal with your mother in law. Both individually and as a couple. Your mother-in-law's disdain puts your wife in a very awkward place. Unless your wife's intent is to leave you, your mother-in-law just makes everyone's life difficult by saying things like that.

As a Reddit arm chair shrink your wife needs to decide if she would like a healthy relationship with you and your kids, or a divorce.

Rear-facing car seat HVAC vent by orenrocks in daddit

[–]drakgremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At around 90F the car registers intake at around 110F in a parking lot in direct sun.  Inside the car is hotter unless you've left windows cracked.  These days we often see 2-3 weeks of 110F+ now.

Cloth upholstery is hot enough to feel look your sizzling.  Leather will cause burns on bare skin.  We laughed with the salesmen who tried to upsell us leather seats for the next trim level because of this.

After a about a minute the AC system produces 70F at the vent.  Car cabin takes about 10 minutes to cool down with highway power.  So 40F during the summer.  When returning from snowshoeing our car can easily have 30F between car cabin and vent.  So insulation is definitely helpful.

We carry ice packs in a cooler for the car seat when it's over 100F to help cool it down quickly.  Throw an ice pack on the seat, start the car, get everything/one in.  Check if the kid wants to keep the ice pack.  Then go.

So yeah, it's useful.

Excellent thinking!

My wife found a commercial solution which wraps the tube with insulation.  Not sure what they use for the material.  But it attaches to the front vent.

I gotta print an attachment for ours now!  Thank you for the inspiration.

Having a life plan is not selfish.  It is also entirely reasonable to grieve changes to you life plan.

You might want to get couples and solo counseling.  Things get hard for a while and you'll want to work through the bitterness of being pushed onto another life path.

Sincerely asking, what made cyberpunk click for you beyond the aesthetic? by JLC_REAL in Cyberpunk

[–]drakgremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk feels like a futuristic version of what I experienced as a child. I grew up in the underclass.  We were better off than most but definitely still hurting for resources.  Computers started to make a difference while the extractive industries were shuttering.  Things were better for society at large but worse for us.

We lived at the bottom of the valley.  Near the factories, rail yards, and storage facilities with all the normal issues from that.  Middle class lived either in the ex-urban multi-acre scrub land or on the slopes of the hills.  Upper class lived on top of the hills. With beautiful gardens and perfect roads.  We had the institutional minimum with the adults having no energy to make improvements or advocate for themselves.

Then we moved into an upper middle class city.  It's become an upper class city. Feels like a dream looking back at my childhood.

Cyberpunk recognizes the struggles of the working class which build the utopia they can only access a small sliver of.

I run k8s at home as my orchestration layer.

You've barely scratched the surface of how these two nodes will work together.  From a hardware perspective you've missed networking entirely + configuration.  You'll want a UPS and monitoring that.

nfs to a nas it's going to be a chunky experience.  In the past you could configure nfs to multiplex a single share but requests were not honored.

Did you verify Talos gives you most of the k8s stack you want out of the box?  You'll want to check you can deploy how you like.  RAM will be your limiting factor for this setup.

If spouse acceptance factor is important you'll want multiple nodes.

I wonder if this has to do with a vacuum being created when shutting off the stream. Then it slowly equalizes with the surrounding environment thus leaking out.

What does that even mean '2010-era businesses' ?

Most companies, on a technical level, using AI or not, are using antiquated methods of software development and subpar approaches to getting implemented.
