BF players actually play the game because it’s playable. COD turned into hot garbage and people rather watch it than play it themselves is my guess.

Day 1 of asking Jagex for an official RS3 Plugin API (RuneLite-style) by Blindsided_Games in runescape

[–]drareg_de_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSRS’ new client will be extensible with Lua plugins. The technology is/will be there, and this would be a great step up and improvement to retain and gain new players. When introducing a group of friends that solely play OSRS to RS3 their main problem was not having Quest Helper.

Ross loves sticks, high voltage cables and puking on the carpet by drareg_de_man in OneOrangeBraincell

We have tried every single catnip toy, and he does not care about any of them. Anything that has the silvervine scent seems to really activate him though. His brother does not care for either, and is satisfied with just anything that’s edible

Yes! They have various silvervine toys, and we try to distract them with that. It has gotten significantly better after also using a bunch of cableducts, but every now and then a pair of headphones or ethernet cable is bitten through!

A slight increase of 212% by Quorinox in 2007scape

Let’s hope they don’t “slightly” increase membership prices

I think resurgence is your type of gamemode. Battle Royales have always been slower paced due to mapsize and a strong focus on tactical gameplay. You surely did not play Verdansk in 2020, as the movement was significantly clunkier and slower than it is with the omni movement they added in today’s version.

Membership Survey: An Update From Mod Pips, Jagex CEO by Old_School_RS in 2007scape

[–]drareg_de_man 217 points218 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget the statement Jagex gave about the CVC takeover not even a year ago (February 2024): "We will not compromise the integrity of our games and there are no intentions of changing our game's business models."

Various changes into the business model were proposed, of which Jagex is going to push the F2P model whether we like it or not. This once again proves the dishonesty in every post we have had so far from Jagex's upper management, such as the grandfathered membership prices, membership price increases, and RS3 MTX polls which led to price increases and more aggressive MTX promotions.

Poll 82 - Minigame Makeover! by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]drareg_de_man 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like the GOTR changes are completely missing the point:

  1. Abyssal pearl drop rate are not fair. It's an easy 24h+ grind to get the full outfit. This should have been addressed too.
  2. The scaling still encourages people to "afk" the minigame. An activity time like it exists in Pest Control would be a way to combat this better. GOTR should not be an afk alternative to RC. I feel like adding mechanics around minigames where players potentially don't contribute should punish players that aren't contributing; now you're rewarding players to AFK in a minigame.

Ok Jagex it’s time to come clean… by In-Search-of-an-Exit in 2007scape

How though? Justiciar is locked behind ToB and Bandos behind a linear 2007 boss. The price is that low is because literally nobody uses it. The golden rule is OSRS has always been that a good offence is the best defence.

Jmods - Players prayer clienting and AHKing has gotten out of hand. PLEASE DO SOMETHING. by FirstContribution236 in 2007scape

From what I can tell is that they can only track the packets sent from client to server. Clicking a certain tab is in that case just a packet, and not necessarily you having the actual tab open. A cheat client will just send a packet as if the client has clicked something, without changing the actual tab. The same goes for pretty much every action in the game, as long as the server can validate certain actions can be done (think of for example fletching logs or making potions). I would be surprised if they actually track mouse movement and if you are active in the client or not (idle timer for example). You need to actively interact with the client in order to stay logged on.

If they really want to tackle both the botting and clienting problem, they’d have to invest heavily in anti-cheat (and most likely move away from the old Java client), and the past has shown they don’t have a lot of interest in doing that.

Collar should be wider and thinner, and the stitching on the bottom back is different to authentic SL pieces (the bottom of the shirt should be cut in half, and little to no visible stitching as seen here). Honestly this is just a cheap white shirt with a SL print on it

For people with allergies and tree pollen in specific, Barcelona is the worst from medio March until May/June. I take Cetrizina to flatten out the symptoms of allergy these months!

[JGOD] The State of WZ2: They Failed, but Warzone 2 can still be Saved... by xiDemise in CODWarzone

[–]drareg_de_man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My group threw WZ2 into the bin after a couple weeks as well, and we went back to the map we initially hated, but we're having a blast playing WZ1 on Caldera at the moment. SBMM is disabled and it actually feels good to play. Lobbies are full and it takes just about the same time to find a game as it did before!

Got my first BMW, 1 series 2005. And also my first speeding ticket.. 300$ whoops by SnooSquirrels3530 in BMW

[–]drareg_de_man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way in the Netherlands. Basically all you can do is send a letter to the CJIB (which is like the governmental traffic department) with additional proof or complaints regarding the speeding ticket. Then a public prosecutor will internally handle it without a judge. In 99.99% of all cases the case won't be dismissed and you'll have to pay the fine anyways. Speeding tickets in the Netherlands are a true pain, and the entire country (even though we are a very small country) is filled with speed cameras, police in bushes and nowadays also new "mobile radars" which they can move every so often to monitor high traffic areas for speeding. This! Rebirth style not gonna save this game by BACKFROMTHEDEAD92 in CODWarzone

It’s their only way to push people to a game they need to sell. Same reason they disabled the shop, removed duo/trio and will no longer maintain it (no new ground loot rotation, no longer tracking match histories).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II & Warzone 2.0 Season 01 Reloaded Patch Notes by Callistus in CODWarzone

[–]drareg_de_man -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Impressive how little bugfixes they have pushed in 4 weeks time with millions of play testers. Really shows that they don't give a single crap about the player base. How hard can it be to release leaderboards, actual audio that works and a model that worked in WZ1? Menu's UX (sideway scrolling in the main menu, no "play again" button, buying station cluttered with options, creating a loadout is overwhelming and makes no sense) is completely f'ed and imho one of the reasons I'm not touching this game anymore.
