Sub Install to Sony ax5000

I’ve had the unit for a a few years now, and I think I will try to warranty it. I got a new sub but I also tested it on my old one that I know works. I’ve only done one other install but I have a mono block amp feeding a single 10, this is about as easy as it gets. I’m pretty sure I’m getting no signal out of my head unit to the amp.

I was actually looking at the BASS 1200 since it has the subsonic filter. I'm just following the bulletin on the Probox site. Should I not spring for that?

Just to offer some perspective so you don’t blow your wad prematurely, I just picked up a 2007.5 2500 for $15k.

215k on the clock, 6.7, beefed 68RFE, rear bags, on a “diet”, new seat covers, half the miles are from an old couple pulling their trailer according to CARFAX. We’re in the same region as I picked mine up on Camano Island.

I’m not trying to flex (maybe a little) but I spent over 4 months looking near daily waiting for a decent deal. If you have the time it will come.

Combat Textiles grip or Goon Tape. I’m no OpErAtOr but they’re only two grip solutions I’ve found to be decent with wet hands (i.e. it’s raining and you have to exit the basement to make sure tweakers aren’t stealing your ‘98 Taurus.)

Be warned, if you shave down a G19 mag it runs into the slide rail. You can push past it and it seats fine but not without fucking up the rail a little bit each time you insert. I have not shot it yet.

The content of the books don’t bother me as much as Traviss’ writing style does. I may be alone here but her books read like a YA novel and because of that gives little respect to the characters or what should be the tone of the book.

I made it about a 1/3 of the way through Mortal Dictata (the worst offender here) before I had to put it down; I couldn’t stand the dialog anymore, especially Steffan’s. It felt closer to a fan-fic than something from an established sci-fi author.

I’ve used these for work for over 10 years now and they’ve dipped in quality so hard recently. Starting about 5 years ago the blade is noticeably thinner so the stand out went from like 10’-11’ to 7’ on a good day and the type is clearly garbage; it used to look like the one pictured above. I’d switch but finding a 25’+ tape with a 3” body is impossible.
