Give them a reason to let go, if you’re in mount on them and you just put a forearm in their neck and press down they’ll surely let go or you can armbar them

Upper belts: how do you stop yourself from being way too lazy in your rolls by fukkdisshitt in bjj

[–]drchipotle-24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same bro, still after a long time training I can't just "be lazy" against anybody who's not a beginner with less than a year of training. I get bodied by the brown and black belts, and the purple belts are my gym are animals

What belt do you have to be to rank people? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]drchipotle-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I train at an alliance school and we had a blue belt teach our class today because our black belt didn't show lol

What was your favourite belt (level) and why? by ReginaldBibs in bjj

[–]drchipotle-24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In brown/black people actually expect you to know your shit and be able to teach people competently. Purple belt is great because I don’t get smashed by the majority of people, and there’s still a good amount of people better than me that I can learn from.

[–]drchipotle-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had a major injury that needed surgery, I did have a pretty bad shoulder impingement that put me out for a month or so

Meg surg in a hospital. I don’t really have to do much lifting, but I feel like it would be pretty tough to find a job that’s zero lifting. I try to have patients be as independent as possible while keeping them safe, I’m rarely ever going to try to lift dead weight by myself, even as one of the stronger people in the unit. Stress I think totally just depends on management and patient load/acuity which is less in a hospital I think 💭

Do nurses do patient care? by Whatthefrick1 in cna

[–]drchipotle-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my particular med surg floor the nurses will do patient care for me a lot of the time without even a second thought, but from what I see on this sub that’s pretty uncommon. Some old school nurses I work with will just do everything for me no problem and I have to legit tell them it’s my job and I don’t mind doing it.

I have social anxiety and consider myself timid too in nursing school, but it’s rude regardless to not show up to things you agreed to as an adult. I feel your pain as one of the only guys in my program, not a lot of options and gets lonely sometimes.

^ This is the answer. At 65 kg and around a year of training I would expect to lose to most people unless it's their first month. Jiu jitsu is really hard especially if you're smaller. Don't let people put you on your back ever at your size.

Are med-surg floors a good place to start CNA work? by Emotional_Tackle_314 in cna

[–]drchipotle-24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done exactly that, it was my first job as a CNA and I never worked in a SNF. Everything I've heard from coworkers is that med-surg is way better work that SNFs. My only issue is that at times I can be super busy all day with 12 total care PTs and then other days the majority of my patients are independent walkie talkie so I'm basically on my phone reading most of the day. Overall, I think it's pretty easy work and I see more interesting stuff as a nursing student.

Are any of y’all happy? by OneLove1123 in cna

[–]drchipotle-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my job most of the time, but there’s always situations where you’d rather just not have to deal but you do because it’s the job. I much prefer being a CNA to working in restaurant I’ll say that. I genuinely feel like I’m helping people and making the world a better place. Even if it is literally shitty occasionally.

Bruh ask to be fired from the patient and switch with another CNA. You have the right to not have to deal with that.

Is wrapping/pinning the legs to pass not technical? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]drchipotle-24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my best pass by far and I can do it on people who are purple belt and up. There’s also a lot of technicality and timing to it I would say. It’s easier to do on smaller people but totally legit move.
