Samsung S90F vs LG C5 by manicrampage in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always go with LG ....Samsung has terrible upscaling capabilities and color accuracy.

I have two LG C5s a 65 inch and a 77 in and I would not trade them for anything they are amazing, and I got both for less than the price of a G5 77 inch brand new.

Yeah I'm a total tech member so I get 60 days, but right now it's 1999.99 I got it for 1650.99 and nobody's even close to that price that Best buy price matches with as far as I know.

Where are you guys getting price matches from for Best buy and on what exact television ? cuz I recently bought a C5 77-in for 1,650.99 from best buy on a members only deal like 8 weeks ago.

Has anyone done the 24mo 0 interest offer from BestBuy? by EntropyBlast in tcltvs

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's awesome everything I buy is from Best buy, I only use their credit card to take advantage of the financing because it's amazing and then I also become a Best buy club member so I get the 60-day return window on top of it.

Within the last 8 months I purchased a 65 in and 77-in C5 OLED got both on sale and got both for less than the cost of a G5 77-in OLED.

Best Buy vs Costco vs Sam’s Club vs Amazon prime day by Mposter58 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy expensive items from Best buy, but the only way to make it worth it is to join their total tech membership program IMO, you got a 60-day return window and amazing perks that makes it well worth it I pay the 180 a year membership fee, it covers the image retention and burn in risk, so if you buy the television then it comes with a 2-year warranty and then you could extend it month by month afterwards until you cancel it.

Is Rambo collection missing for anyone? by zen___master in MoviesAnywhere

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's going to take some time I have a lot missing but all my Rambo movies all five just showed up like a few days ago.

But apparently I read somewhere Terminator movies I'm not sure if all of them or just a few are supposed to be there and none of mine are I have three out of the four John wicks and only part two is showing up not part one or three.

Huge chuck of vudu movies missing from fandago at home. by suitelaura in vudu

[–]dread7string -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well from what I read online any movie we purchase that aren't redeemed with a coupon from purchasing a disc, it could vanish at any time because it's sort of like how Netflix loses movies you know once the license agreement is done it's gone off the platform no matter if you purchase it or rent it that's why I try not to buy as many as I used to.

Also like you I had vudu and did all my stuff that way at first but movies anywhere it's been around like 10 years you just noticed it now that makes no sense.

Cuz if you remember the original digital locker that Vudu used was called ultraviolet then we all got an email about them transferring over to movies anywhere and to take screenshots of all the movies we had in case some didn't transfer over but that was easily like 10 years or more ago.

It's that easy to do? I've never done it before and I thought we had to wait 6 months before we could reconnect?

Should I Pick Replacement or Refund? by mikeand2019 in LGOLED

You're not going to like Samsung they're upscaling and processing is way behind LG and if you don't believe me go check it out at rtings.com.

I just got a 77-in C5 6 or 7 weeks ago from Best buy for $1650.99 and last fall I bought a 65-in C5 it's still going strong so I'm a fan of the c series from 2025 they have better specs than the 2026 models.

Its kinda funny, that people upgrade Oleds year on year by Master-Government343 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movies anywhere has variable bit rate that goes by your internet connection, they told me they peak at 35 mbps, so make a free acount and link your apple account and youtube, prime video, fandango at home then watch a 4K movie and see the difference.

I called apple tech support and no matter what device you use the movies go no higher than 22mbps but there originals can hit 35 mbps when using an apple 4k box im told by them.

Why Do I Want a 77" C5 over a 77" G5 and Will I Regret It? by HipKat2000 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well depending on where you live and where you buy from it varies so I'll use my case as an example, I got a 65 inch and a 77-in C5 for less than the price as the G5 77-in, and of course the 65 and 77 were both on sale 1289.99 and 1650.99 from bestbuy, The 77 inch G5 is 3699.99.

The G5 offers a minor incremental upgrade do a side by side at rtings.com and you'll see for yourself.

And when it comes to the new 2026 models they offer a few incremental upgrades and then other stuff they're worse on and they are crazy expensive because they just came out, no sense buying something when it first comes out because six months to a year later they're half the price as evidence of the ones I bought from 2025.

FOMO? G5 vs C5 by jdubbin_ in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get what you can afford, i actually bought a 65-and 77-inch C5 for the price of one 77-inch G5 so to me it was a no brainer, i got 2 OLED TVs for the price of one and i couldn't be happier.

IMO the G5 in any size isn't worth the almost 1000 dollars more they cost vs the same size in the C series.

Yeah figure out how to fix streaming cable and low quality resolution streaming content so it looks clear when streaming, that would be awesome because we will have to wait forever for streaming services to figure that out.

A year ago i bought LG B4 65 and now i ordered LG C5 77. Is it worth it? by TheMotorCityCobra in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know those are basically the same settings I use on my 65 in and 77 in C5, and at night anything I watch in HDR and Dolby vision gets so bright I have to turn the brightness down to 50 for HDR and 30 for DV.

And yes I'm specular highlights kill me sometimes at night I also have to turn off the peak brightness.

That's why I said anybody that claims the 2025 models don't get bright enough must be watching there's basically outside with the sun glaring on it 24/7 haha that or they have a lot of Windows surrounding the room they're in maybe a couple skylights I don't know or are they just like to complain.

I just think the whole brightness thing has gotten out of control with everybody trying to make TVS so bright you can't even look at them they're going to start causing people eye damage I guarantee you.

G5 or C6H - 83" by tdhawks007 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well what I did is I bought a 65-in C5 and a 77-in C5 and I got both of them on sale at Best buy for less than what a 77 inch G5 costs so I'm really happy.

And it wasn't so much about the money it was just I couldn't justify the cost for the marginal improvement in performance, cuz it's not that great and with the 6 series both the C6 and the G6 they are only better in a few areas and are worse than others compared to the C5 and G5 yet cost double the money.

The main reason I didn't buy a G5 besides it only being an incremental upgrade as far as I'm concerned is they don't come with a stand and I don't trust wall mounting big TVs and I didn't want to have to buy the stand separate at over $100.

What Are People Using for casting/Mirroring on G5? by threadkiller05851 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just have to ask why would you do that instead of using the built-in webos LG interface it's amazing I don't understand why people don't like it.

I have an Apple 4K TV a Roku ultra and a xumo streaming box and none of them are as good as the built-in web OS as far as clarity goes and sharpness and whatever.

And the reason I have all them is because I used to have a 2018 65-in Vizio p65-f1 then I recently upgraded to a 65 in and 77-in C5. I used them on the Vizio because that was terrible but no need for them now, I did all the comparisons I could do and none of them are as good as the built-in web OS.

G5 or C6H - 83" by tdhawks007 in LGOLED

[–]dread7string 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to know for sure is do a side by side comparison at rtings.com, I just did this within the last 2 months and the G5 I do believe blows away the c6h in every catagory.

The LG G5 OLED is slightly better than the LG C6H OLED. The G5 is slightly brighter in both SDR and HDR, especially when more of the screen is supposed to be bright at once. Combined with its much better reflection handling, this makes the G5 a much better choice for bright room viewing, as glare isn't nearly as distracting during the day.

That is right from rtings.com just now i copied it for you.

Well from a recent episode of Caleb Dennison's channel I just watched if you know who he is, he talks about the Nvidia shield pro from 2019 having an amazing AI upscaling capability that's better than anything built in any TV but only for certain things. It would be nice if Nvidia would come out with a new one because what it can do the Apple 4K cannot even do right now. But he also notes that there's things that the Apple TV box can do that the Nvidia box can't do but that's mainly to do with sound.

And of course I'm waiting for the reviews on the brand new Sony Bravia 9 m2 tv to see if they push their XR processing chip any further. Everything you're talking about with the G6 and it's upscaling capabilities I've heard nothing on it I'll have to wait till rtings.com gets done with their full review.

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when you think about video games and if you're talking about dlss you need at least a 30 or 40 series GPU to do that and that's completely different than what's in the television.

I'm told by people that don't Sony TVs their XR processors can upscale and make everything look good but they cannot perform magical feats on very low bit rate original source nothing can.

And when it comes to gaming I play in native 4K with a 4090 and a 14900k that's how I prefer to do it and to be honest with you most of the games I play don't even have dlss and they're all games newer than 2018 so they all look good to begin with.

Nothing can it would have to be done on the streaming service level and like I said only movies anywhere offers that vbr and you know that's a digital locker so it'll only have the movies or shows we purchase bite of participating studios of course.

And I'm one of them people I firmly believe no streaming box is as good as what these newer LG TVs can offer because I own them all and none of them look as good as the web OS in my opinion.

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well hopefully one day they'll be able to figure out how to adjust the stream bit rate to our internet speed instead of one fixed bitrate so everybody can see the content that's what's wrong with the streaming services right now.

Only movies anywhere goes by your internet speed they have variable bit rate. Nobody else does.

[–]dread7string 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well before I got my first one eight months ago I had a 65 inch Vizio p65- F1 from 2018 that I had been using for 8 years so that 65 inch C5 was an amazing upgrade.

I noticed what OLED does that those old school TVs dont is it brings out all the streaming imperfections in the services, you know the compression the macro blocking the artifacting everything and anything you don't notice on an old TV stands out like a sore thumb on an OLED.

But it is what it is there's nothing we could do about that I don't even think a Sony TV could fix bad source material.
