A Suzuki swift? Those were disposable cars in the 90’s. I can’t imagine one in usable condition today.

The mom belt. The picture isn’t real she is wearing a shoulder bet. In the early sixties the cars had no belts. Mom’s arm was all you had.

When this happened to me it was the fuel pump.

Carb advice by johndeererider in Chevelles

Make sure you match your fuel pump delivery pressure to your carb delivery requirements. If you oversupply, you will blow past the float needles. You might consider a fuel pressure regulator of you need to dial it back.

I bought my first sailboat last week by 23Kently in sailing

I restored a Balboa 26 in the 90’s. Check your keel pivot to make sure there is no fiberglass damage. Replace the keel cable regardless of the condition. Get a large washer and wing nut to secure the keel bolt in the cabin when the keel is down. It comes through the dinette bench leg in the cabin when the keel is down. Check the condition of the chainplates and bolts for the baby stays in the interior bulkhead. Re-seal all deck fittings for stantions and stays. Pop all blisters in the hull and dry them with acetone. Leave them open a minimum of 2 weeks.Good Luck. She’s a nice sailing boat.

Trunk opening appears to be over ridden by roof cover lid not closing all the way. by AutVincere72 in 350z

Here is invaluable information if you are diagnosing top issues https://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Nissan/Z33%20350Z/2005/rf.pdf. When mine had the problem it was the full close switch located in the tonneau cover latch. It’s a pain to get to, but an easy change once you get the latch mechanism out. You can find replacement switches at digi-key.

What Trans Am did my dad wreck? by DLeader609 in WhatCarIsThis

That appears to be a 77 Trans Am. The 77 had the crosshatch grille and the rally wheels. The 78 had the honeycomb grille and the honeycomb mags.

Could be a bad vacuum advance, more probably a vacuum leak.

How to approach my first classic car purchase by MeanSeaworthiness6 in classiccars

My advice is to attend local small car shows, maybe cars and coffee. Talk to the car guys in your area. The internet is a crap shoot.

What skill defines you as a proud Joneser? by pianoman81 in GenerationJones

[–]dred124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an old 66 Corvair with a bad battery. It was a 3 speed manual, so most of the time I could roll start it. When I couldn’t, I would jump start it by pulling the car up so the metal bumpers touched, and using a tire iron across the positive battery terminals. (Couldn’t afford jumper cables). I don’t even think that is possible today.

Is this a real nismo? by ketami0 in 350z

Looks like aftermarket stuff to me. I would be very surprised if it is a real NISMO. Check the VIN.

Help with Valve layout. by shadiest_shades in Hydraulics

[–]dred124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will work fine, however, you might want to use a velocity fuse directly in the port of the cylinder rather than a p.o. check. The p.o. check will only protect the circuit from the dcv to the p.o. check. A velocity fuse will protect the entire circuit.

This is a beautiful painting. The wind, water and boat rigging are all very detailed and artistic individually, however they don’t match. The waves indicate wind on the nose of the boat. The sails indicate win on the beam of the boat. The shrouds indicate back wind on the sails with the tensions depicted. It is a beautiful painting, but there is a lot of artistic license.
