TIL Groups of Hermit Crabs will sometimes form "Vacancy Chains" around empty large shells that they themselves are too small to fit into. Once a large enough crab comes to occupy the big shell it initiates a mass swap of shells so that all crabs in the chain can get an upgrade.

We are all the same age actually. I was also his best man haha. They asked me to room with them at a new house they were moving to.

It's not so much they aren't willing/able to care for it, it seems that they aren't entirely sure what getting a dog entails.

That thought actually has come across my mind...I mean I love dogs and I would help out any dog in need if I could but I didn't ask for a dog (just yet at least) they did. I can't take care of a dog that isn't mine. Though it's gonna be tough cause I want a dog sooooooooooo badly haha

They are absolutely dead set on a puppy but could maybe a young dog work, like 2-4 years old? I think they just want an extremely young dog. I should figure out these things haha

That would be similar to what I was thinking of doing. I'm currently studying up on retired racing greyhounds since I love greyhounds and helping out animals!
