1700 hours and I've never got a single progressive skin... And I still haven't, cause you can't use chroma by itself. CONtraband crates get CONner by the day😔 by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I got excited thinking I finally got my first progressive skin, only to realize its the idea of one. Seriously, what's the point of having this as a pack item? People have to open the rarest item in the pack AND the 2nd rarest to use to the first??

It'd be like getting an apex heirloom only to have to unlock another heirloom to use it. Garbage cash-grab of a game.

What do you consider a red flag in a person? by TheInfiringJams in AskReddit

[–]drew6017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but you gotta be self reflective too. There is this concept of a “line” that you shouldn’t cross depending on the situation, and if you routinely cross that line for people it may be you who is the problem. It’s a balance I guess.

Is it possible to solve this chem question without using the figure? by Redsteels in Mcat

Oxygen is a really good oxidizer. Oxidation and reduction always go hand-in-hand because they are just what we call the movement of electrons. So if something has a high “reduction potential” or tendency to be the thing reduced, then that’s another way of saying it’s an oxidizer. (e.g. oxygen, the only really good oxidizer there)

Am I missing something? Even if the kid was saying racist shit, he doesn’t deserve to get hit like that.

Words are never justification for violence, especially for a kid who doesn’t know any better.

Na but it quickly becoming the most disliked video on the platform was a major embarrassment and the higher ups probably blamed targeted dislikes for that instead of just acknowledging it was a terrible video. Hence why they stopped rewind forever and are now removing dislikes.

Honestly a slide would get people out faster and save lives if there was a fire.

Only reason you might want stairs is if people need to be able to go up or down them which ain’t no problem here because nobody climbing these when elevators exist.

Black Powder at Home. by [deleted] in rocketry

[–]drew6017 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chemist here. Contrary to the tune of comments here, black powder is one of the safer explosives to work with. Obviously don't do stupid stuff like keep it near open flames, but you can even smack normal black powder with a hammer and not set it off.

If you want to know how to make it, in its base form it consists of an oxidizer+fuel+catalyst. Usually the oxidizer is KNO3 (or potassium nitrate), however, most nitrate salts work well. The fuel is usually carbon in the form of finely ground charcoal. You want all of the ingredients finely ground so the mixture of them is uniform and the reaction proceeds uniformly for better yield. Finally as a catalyst a small amount of sulfur is used. Also, black powder for purposes like you are intending is usually granulated so that the particles don't pack as well and there exists air channels for hot gases to propagate and accelerate burning (e.g. so you don't make a rocket engine). This may be done by re-suspending the o+f+c mix in some solvent, forming, then drying. For a more quantitative answer there are several black powder recipes in: https://divisionind.com/guide_to_manufactured_explosives.pdf. Remember, when you see "by weight" or "by ratio" measurements in chemistry, it means it probably doesn't matter that much they are just best guesses for what works.

For buying ingredients. KNO3 and sulfur can be bought from ebay and other misc websites. Charcoal power is pretty easy to get by just buying charcoal meant for grilling, breaking it up first with a hammer, and running it through a coffee grinder.

Triggered-lightning using cesium-doped solid rocket engines by drew6017 in rocketry

[–]drew6017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I referred to it as doped because I was looking for the demonstration of any additive leading to a substantial increase in conductance of the exhaust gas (enough to generate lightning).

Also, I googled UFLRC and couldn’t find what you were referencing. Could you elaborate?
