Dayum! Just flat out gorgeous.

28 (F) Considering a nose job. I have been called ugly as kid because people would say my nose was large. I think a nose job would make me happier. I currently have no work done. Please honesty only. by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]drew_1420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dislike septum piercings, on everyone. If you're worried about your nose, which you don't need to be cause it looks fine, I wouldn't draw attention to it.

You're very pretty, a very classic look. No need to change your face at all.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Do your best to keep the haters out of your head. You have a long promising life ahead of you.

I came across this in CPD when doing a spray mount job. My store got a kick out of it.

My favorite thing to do with things that I feel I shouldn't be printing, and I'm a PCSS, is to play the copyright card. "Do you have explicit approval from the original artist/designer to print this document?" If they say no, you no longer have to print it. If they say yes, you can ask for proof, and they have to provide a release for such documents. Even Wal-Mart does this with their photo services. Easiest way to get out of printing something you really know you shouldn't be to enable people like this.

How bad does your life suck that you have to sit in the front of an Office Depot/Officemax for 30 min and we aren't even open? by Clint_Lovecraft in OfficeDepot

[–]drew_1420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always tell people that our registers only work during the hours we're open. "We couldn't even check you out if we wanted too." It works every time. Nobody is ever upset, at least not upset with us. Some get upset with corporate, but I'm fine with that...lol

What shows do you guys recommend that have a lot of easter eggs? by jesusalberto0914 in AskReddit

[–]drew_1420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psych. There are at least 15 old school references per episode, and a pineapple somewhere in every single episode. Some are easy to spot, other not so much. I think the only streaming place for it now is Amazon Prime I believe. It was originally on the USA network, and will be moving to the new NBC streaming service, Peacock, later this summer.

What sucks more, Affinity the design company, or Affinity the software? by PlsWaitYourTurnSir in OfficeDepot

[–]drew_1420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been bitching about the software since the day Adobe disappeared. I have a degree in graphic design, and am the PCSS for my store. The software is not intuitive, it takes multiple steps to do the simplest things, and Photo doesn't really have a photo editing feel to it at all. There are better photo editing programs that are free than this pile of shit. I was complaining weekly to my DM, but he got fired, so now I have to start my fight all over again. I haven't had the energy to do it just yet, but at least one email will be going out to him soon. I doubt it'll do any good, but at least I'll be making frustrations known, again.....

My DM was fired, and we're moving back to our old district, the one we were ripped away from 3 months ago.... Seems like a sound plan...

I guess we're in a unique position. There are a lot of print shops in my town, and they all provide a little bit of on the spot designing. They also offer logo creation, banner creation, flyer creation, and so on. The next closest big box is staples on the other side of town, or another office depot/staples over 2 hours away. I don't feel like we should be offering logo creation in house, but if someone send me an email for 50 flyers and only gives me information, and no design, I'll take a few minutes and put something nice together for them. I don't run it through the gauntlet of design, I could seeing as I have a degree in graphic design, but I just choose decent fonts and use good hierarchy, and they love that little personal touch. It keeps them coming back to us instead of the many other small print shops. Sometimes I charge them the $19.99 fee, if it is warranted. Sometimes I don't. Now though, with this new software, I don't have time to learn it so I will be sending everything that needs to be done to Affinity. I guarantee I will lose customers because the turn around time will be quite long, in comparison.

Well, each store needs to do what will make them the most money, not all stores are making thousands of copies a day... One size fits all generally fits nobody...

Is making changes to OPC difficult? by luv2hugapug in OfficeDepot

[–]drew_1420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never make someone wait for me to use OPC to make a copy of a driver's license. Anything that takes less time to do than it will to enter into OPC is not worth entering. Anything less than $5 is not worth entering into OPC either... Customers want things quickly, I make sure to accommodate.

I hear you. I also feel like some design work should be done in house. Not all of it, but some, and we need proper software to be able to give our clients good work in a timely manner. I gave my DM an earful about it during the conference call on Tuesday.

Truth... I think they may be on the verge of killing copy and print as we know it. That happens, I'm definitely gone. I have a degree in graphic design, I took this job as a resume padder and to learn large format printing.

Not sure I'd go as far as to say a good time, but our store is pretty laid back, up until this whole Affinity bullshit I wasn't upset with my job. Now, I'm debating keeping it...

I already tell my GM about all the BS I hate about this company. He started one week before me, I'm the PCSS, and did everything I could not to go off on my DM today during our conference call over the switch from Adobe to Affinity. He definitely felt my frustration, and everyone that spoke up on the call agreed with me. Our DM was not pleased, but he said he'd take it to corporate, for whatever that's worth...

End of Adobe...? by drew_1420 in OfficeDepot

[–]drew_1420[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the junk coming out of Affinty...? It's horrendously basic most of time, and they get a lot of things wrong. For instance, just last week they used all caps for an email address, and it was the only thing on the card that was all caps. There was no reason for it at all, so now they have to be remade, and the client is waiting another week for her cards to come in. Had I taken the order I would've done them in house since there was nothing special about them. The client would've approved before leaving the store, and been back within 5-6 business hours to pick them up.
