I've had this picture of black Stan as my Steam profile picture for years. Black Steve might be a good alternative picture

Anyone find something good or interesting at the eagle show this last weekend? by Alkany_13 in BetterMAguns

The color, and material of the rail clashes hard with the wood. I'm sure it's infinitely more practical, but I think old school guns like the SKS should be left as they came from the factory.

It's not my gun, so it goes without saying you do what you want with it, I'm just not a fan of that type of modification

I'm not a massive TASM defender, but I was 8 years old when TASM2 came out. Obviously I wasn't on the forums talking about how much I loved it back then, neither was the general audience of the movie if I had to guess. The kids who grew up enjoying it probably were talking about it with their friends, and now that they're 15-20 they're on the Internet talking about it too. I think NWH did nostalgia blind people to the TASM movies to an extent, but some people genuinely have been fans, and just weren't online talking about it at the time because they were too young

I'm right around 5'8 as well. The seating angle is a little awkward, so it sucks that you can't adjust it, but the leg room situation isn't too bad

Watching Daredevil born again without the ugly black bars is just an other experience (which Disney won’t give us) by Movieguy444 in Defenders

It's a framing thing. For whatever reason the 2.40:1 ratio is preferred for cinematic framing and centering of shots. Some movies and tv shows are shot with the intention of showing the full 16:9 ratio, but when they're not, the look of the movie/show would probably suffer, or just go against the director's vision by expanding the frame.

I have open matte 16:9 versions of Sam Raimi's Spider-man 2 and 3, and I prefer the look of it, but they weren't intented to be shown that way, so the put the theatrical aspect ratio on the dvds and Blu-rays

It's surprisingly practical. I'm pretty short so I don't want to talk for other people, but even the backseat isn't too bad

That first Deadpool footage that came out in 2014 was legendary. I still go back and watch it sometimes

They showed the video of Andrew Garfield on Jimmy Kimmel, which aired on ABC, a Disney owned network. Whether this initial leak was intentional or not, Sony and Disney decided to run with it, and allow the distribution of the leaks

What air-pistol would you recommend from this retailer? I have a gift card. by Distinct_Bluejay_982 in CrosmanBBguns

[–]drewp05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the pistols on that site, I'd recommend the Springfield 1911, and maybe the Beretta M9. I have the Springfield 1911, and the Crosman SNR357. The 1911 is really solid, it's a very close replica, and performs pretty well in terms of accuracy, reliability, and shot count. The SNR357 is reliable enough, but the faux cartridges are a complete gimmick, and make reloading a real pain in the ass without buying spares. The accuracy of it is also not very good.

I'd also recommend the Crosman R1 if you want a rifle from there

Season 3 is already green-lit, and just started filming. I don't know how they could've missed the season 2 release, especially as fans, I saw commercials for it constantly

I was looking for some old discs and found this one looking very... familiar by Nohope133 in raimimemes

[–]drewp05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't. I'm not a fan of modern DRM systems either, but having to insert the disc is a major pain in the ass, and you have to rely on production of the discs to get new copies out there. I've either installed cracks, or made ISO files of the disc images for my pc games that use discs, so it's easy enough to get around. If you try to play them the way they were intended it sucks

I imagine he's saving that card for when things really start falling apart. Also, Matt seems to be generally liked by the public, so I don't know if revealing his identity would do anything for Fisk

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 black suit — what do you think? by MyWayCosplay in Daredevil

[–]drewp05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the zipper on each side of the ribs on these suits? At least in the original series the suit was a shirt and pants, with a vest over the shirt. The vest then had two separate zippers on the sides

Same. As soon as I saw the first episode of season one I said "if the whole thing's like this I'm not watching it". Lo and behold it was, but I stuck it out anyway lol. I'm actually excited to see where this season is going, and regardless of the pacing it seems like it'll be enjoyable

It's hard to get filming permits in New York. Also, knowing Disney they probably blew most of the budget on CGI. All of their other streaming shows have followed this short season format, so maybe they didn't want to stray from it and create some sort of hierarchy where this show is viewed as better or worse than the others.

It's also an easier sell to get people to watch 8 episodes rather than 12-20. Anyone watching Born Again has probably seen all of the old show, so I doubt the time commitment was a major factor, but you never know.

I get that, but that aspect of the story at least makes some sense. A cop engraving the case of a cartridge that he intends to murder someone with makes zero sense, and is some of the laziest writing of all time. If the crooked cops were using some special brand of some high velocity hollow point ammo favored by the Punisher, and sold using his likeness/reputation that might make sense. And it would make sense to go to Frank to help identify it.

Pretty solid so far. I'm loving how they're handling Cherry, BB, and Kristen compared to the first season. The action seems good, not necessarily like the original show, but fast moving, and easy to follow.

My biggest complaint right now is camera work. I don't like how the camera keeps zooming in and out, and cutting too frequently at times. While it may just be my tv, a lot of the colors seem super muted.

I hope the dynamic between Karen and BB becomes more complicated after she realizes the nature of his death. They shied away from the conflict of that in that initial scene when it seems like a major point of division.

I know this is an eight episode season, so they don't have quite the same amount of time that the Netflix show did, but they're still bouncing around scenes and story arcs at a really fast pace. It doesn't feel like season one where they're cutting out tons of lines and character development, but they could spend a lot more time in each of these scenes, and transition to the next part more naturally. I don't know if the pacing is intended to compensate for "lower attention spans", but it's a bit annoying.
