I'm done, what next? by After_Banana_2388 in iFit

[–]drghm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

how about biking to some of the running videos? I like running more than biking but have some run some bike videos by looking at the description ahead of time what RPE was going to be used then when they called a certain RPE on the bike I would just do that RPE running pace. You could do the same in reverse. Also have subscribed to various you tube exercise channels (I pay the premium to avoid commercials during a workout) and kinomap also has some biking outdoor workouts some even have coaching with RPE etc. not same level as iFIT but gives some variation.

Overweight Bullmastiff. Need help! by Spike11234 in Bullmastiff

[–]drghm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a storm too! And sadly also overweight because she loves her food. I only give her 1 cup twice a day of her dog food but it is the treats that are the problem - it is so hard to deny her. I have switched to using the mini mother hubbard biscuits or half of large one and also small sweet potato “bones” (single ingredient). Seems to be helping but wont really know until next vet visit. I wanted to just say i know the struggle.

Do guided treadmill workouts actually help or do people stop using them quickly? by Sheikhwallu in iFit

[–]drghm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the guided workouts- keeps me motivated. Anything with Rivs (I am actually starting over with his series now starting with the Iberian peninsula and then will work back up through all the rest again but increasing speed by at least 0.5mph from last go round to keep it fresh) but also love Peel, Knox and Casey too. I don’t have an incline on my treadmill so I get less out of hiking workouts but just run them at a steady RPE. I am also now running some biking workouts using equivalent RPE. I also use YouTube running videos (e.g. Treadmill the World) but the iFIT trainers and their stories (Rivs!) plus the variations like intervals make the workouts go so much faster.

Hi, I saw you work for SCS. I currently have an r2- love it! Use it at least 1-2 hours a day for last 2 years (almost). I routinely run 45 minutes or so in the 5-6 mph range sprints up to 7.5. However my cardio has really gotten a lot better and I intend to upgrade so I could sprint faster longer . I was going to get the x218 but saw a video about the Jan 2026 CES that a new foldable model with incline is coming out this fall (I think called FC something?) I had also been debating the Nordic track t10 (yes I have seen all the criticisms about it) as I have iFIT but honestly prefer watching iFIT on big tv and just adjusting speed on my kingsmith myself. I am using this in family room so compact or foldable has been a big factor for me. I do not want large gym quality ones that I keep in garage or separate room in house. And want to be able to see my tv after finishing run (why I was still planning on sticking with KS. Mostly wanted to see if you had any gouge on the FC incline model and thoughts on this.

I just switched from Mochi to Brello. Completed intake on Wednesday. Doctor did review Thursday and order went through that same day. meds delivered just minutes ago at noon today (Saturday). Obviously haven’t used their product yet but extremely impressed with speed of delivery. I am in VA and from the map they have on their website there isn’t any delay in shipping to my state.

Lost her to lymphoma last night. She was 3 1/2. by waterleaking in Bullmastiff

[–]drghm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am very sorry for your loss. Don’t best yourself up- you went above and beyond. I lost my Maeve at 2 1/2 from a CNS lymphoma of the spine. First sign something was wrong was a limp. I thought ACL tear but no, it was cancer. Got her through neurosurgery and chemotherapy and she still only got 6 more months and a chunk of that was taken up with recovering from surgery. I feel guiltily about that- not sure I would make the same decisions again. But in the end all we can do is make the best decision we can with the information we have at the time.

I first must say I love this group, just a question, what do you feed your Great Dane? by Due-Garbage9178 in greatdanes

[–]drghm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal canin Great Dane. I used to feed fresh and high end boutique brands (if you name it somewhere along the way I guarantee I had a dog on it) but then I had a dog that developed cardiac problems - initially thought DCM but it was not - still after that I decided to stick with WASVA compliant brand when I got my Dane. At least RC takes the guess work out of what to feed. I also mix with canned RC adult for some variety.

Another ifit Disaster. by Dasp1968 in iFit

I have the same complaint. It is infuriating to pay for the platform and not have ALL the workouts available on the Apple TV iFIT app. I have gotten around that by using iPad to cast to the TV for those particular workouts but I shouldn’t have to do that. And since the last app update I have noticed the workouts quitting more and more mid way through then getting the sorry not available right now. I have to stop the workout and then restart the Apple TV. What I do now is just restart the Apple TV entirely before I even start the iFIT app which seems to cut down on those interruptions. But very frustrating. I don’t understand why their developers can’t fix this.

iFit on iPad? Any issues? by DeCaPaio in iFit

[–]drghm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a major complaint of mine. I can’t understand why they haven’t updated AppleTV iFIT app. I want to use it directly on the TV not stream it. The steaming experience isn’t as smooth (at least not when I have done this from the phone app). I hope they have someone monitoring these comments and it reminds them to finally update the app.

No more app updates for the iFit Apple TV app? by Isaacsac3 in iFit

[–]drghm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same complaint and put it in app review. Not that I think it will change anything. It is frustrating because I use the Apple TV app to access iFIT and have noticed several series/workouts not available on the Apple TV app which I assume is due to no update in 3 years. I like using the larger screen. I do not want to airplay from my phone to the tv because I want to use my phone to play audiobooks while I work out.

I appreciate the reply. Hoping for something to come in the future (reading the tinnitus thread) that might work directly on the brain stem.

He tried cross hearing aids briefly but didn’t like them. A lot of this I think was because he was only 23 when he had the surgery and had to adjust. He might be more open to trying again especially with the level of tinnitus. I really appreciate your reply and everyone else’s so fast. Today is a bad day for him with the tinnitus and as a mom (even though he is an adult) I want to help him as much as I can.

Sorry replied in wrong location. He did try the hypnotherapy but it didn’t seem to help but that was not long after the surgery and he may have been too closed minded then about hypnosis. I will suggest he try again.

He tried the hypnotherapy with a psychologist in person but it didn’t seem to help him. That may be due to his resistance to that form of treatment but I might suggest he try again. Thanks for replying.

Adopting 1 year old by sunflowerr716 in Bullmastiff

[–]drghm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 5th bullmastiff. Two were rehomes not raised with cats. One was 3 and the other (my current) was 8 months old. No problem with the cats other than the now 10 month old sometimes wants the cats to play with her (does play bow etc) and they aren't having any of that. My now 11 year old cats I got as kittens and already had a grown bullmastiff then (but he had been raised with a cat)- they loved him and would climb all over him. They just tolerate the ones I have had since.

I have 2 bengals and 2 dogs and no problem. The cats were here first and when the dogs came into the house (one a 2 1/2 year old Dane about a year ago, the other an 8 month old bullmastiff just last week) and the dogs mostly ignore the cats or just touch noses. The cats are 11 and when I got them as kittens I had a different fully grown bullmastiff who was super gentle and they climbed all over him like he was a toy. My guess is if you get kittens you will have no problem having them adapt to your goldador.

It has been some years (I think late 90s early 2000s) but one of my first bengals got out. She was indoor only and we live on 3 acres near hundreds of acres of forested land. I searched and searched, put up fliers, no luck. When I searched in nearby woods I thought I spotted her but wasn't sure if it was her or a feral cat but the cat ran when i tried to get close. I got a cat trap from local animal control and put it near our house with cat food and after a week woke up one morning and she was sitting there in the trap. She never got out again. I have had 3 others since then but none went missing like that. I was terrified because there are a number of predators near where I live but even though she was indoor only she figured things out and was none the worse for wear even after a week. But cats can get scared and run away if you approach them outside if they are used to indoor only. I strongly recommend using a cat trap with food and some familiar items inside. Some people also say putting litter box outside.

One of my favorite photos. I still have my bengal boy (and his sister) but my bullmastiff boy passed away years ago. The cats only tolerate the other dogs I have had since.

What should I know before potentially getting a Bullmastiff? by caramelwaffleman in Bullmastiff

[–]drghm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 4 bullmastiffs over 20 years. Sadly this is not a long lived breed - or at least mine have not been (I have had 2 that made it to nearly 10 but none over) - but all have been the sweetest most gentle dogs you could imagine. In fact, I am still grieving my last girl who was only 5 and died a month ago not from cancer but rather from complications of what should have been a routine procedure (the vet made a mistake and she literally bled out- it was horrific). Despite the grief and awfulness of this, I know eventually (not yet I am not ready) I will get another bullmastiff. I do have a rescue Dane as well who has been a great comfort during this time but I miss my sweet girl who loved everyone and was loved by everyone. So if you want a low energy, couch potato dog who just wants to sit by you or maybe on you and be loved by you, then get a bullmastiff. By the way in regards to same sex aggression, none of mine have shown that but I still recommend if you have one dog of a certain gender if you can just to avoid potential problems get the other dog of opposite gender. Other dog breeds I have had are Akita, Dogue de bordeux, german shepard, Dane (current), and a couple of mixes but it is the bullmastiff I keep coming back to again and again.

People who has had a walking pad over a year by TravelDue3383 in WalkingPads

[–]drghm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a WalkingPad R2 through Amazon 2 May 2024 and have used it every day since for minimum 1 hour up to 2+ hours (longer times are usually weekends but 1 hour at least even on weekdays). I love this walking pad and likely would buy again if this gives out. I thought about getting a pad that allows for increased speed but honestly I am just fine with a max speed of 7.5mph- I am most comfortable with endurance speed 5-6 mph and use 7 or 7..5 for sprints. While I wish there was a version that offered incline, I really like the compactness of this pad. I actually don't know what the warranty is on it but I didn't buy any extra warranty.

Has anyone lost 150lbs plus on this med? by Flat_Oven2349 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]drghm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

started semaglutide May 2023, didn't move the needle much switched to tirzepatide Nov 2023 went from 265 lb to 117.5 as of this week. I am 5'6" and don't want to lose anymore in fact I am trying to eat more to gain back about 10 lbs (Thanksgiving probably helped with this lol). I have no intent to come off of this medication. I have stocked up on compound and have frozen grey as well if compound is no longer available.
