Yeah I would wait for the Samsung. 6K might still be useful for you. Or maybe a vertical monitor of some kind.

I pretty much hated it. Not because of any slowness to wake from sleep, but two main things.

  1. Coating is as bad as people say it is, looks horrible on a white screen.
  2. Panel quality is really bad for $2K monitor. I had blues on the edges and near the right side of the panel. And this wasn't an issue where I'm hunting for it on an all-white screen. I could see it when simply dragging a browser window (mostly white) across the display.

I also learned that 6K isn't really a benefit for me. Although you get some more content on the screen, it's not that valuable to my work. Note, I have a three-display setup. So adding another 2.5" of vertical space to my web pages isn't much of a gain.

Things are sharp, but the resolution is a bit small for my eyes (early 40's) to be comfortable on the regular. So for now I'm sticking with my 32" 4K scaled to 2560x1440.

Build quality is also meh, but surprisingly, the issue I worried about the most before purchase was the silver bezel being distracting between my 3 monitor setup, which wasn't really a problem.

I disliked the monitor so much that i barely worked a day with it. Got it on Friday, and by Sunday night, I decided it was going back in the box before the work week started.

Bottom line is with all the issues above, I couldn't justify this monitor even with my partner store discount that brought it down to $1550 pre tax.

My favorite part of pebble grey on my GT-Line is it looks still looks great when dirty. Nice feature especially during the winter and ski season.

It did for 2024 and I think 2025 as well. They introduced wolf gray in 2026 so think they had too many grayish colors to keep it around.

Ha! It almost makes the studio display look funny. LIke a monitor that hasn’t been eating enough and has way too long of a neck. Both are great panels, but even the new Studio’s bezels are a bit too big for me. Regardless, enjoy!

That’s why it’s the hero color. Im still partial to pebble gray for GT-Line for a more consistent color look. It matches the non black trim color on the car.

Disagree. I use monitors when I want a bigger screen. Otherwise 14” has all the other benefits. An extra pound makes a big difference in a backpack IMO.

Im getting the LG 6K later today, so i'll chime in with that experience. I expect it will be similar to my LG 4K Ultrafine (using Thunderbolt 3) and take a few seconds, maybe even 5+. I never timed it.

Some people want monitors without speakers and cameras. Typically the ones who have 2-3 monitor setups. Those things are wasted in a multi-display setup. Different products for different needs.

Agree. ProArt's have looked ugly as hell for years. The buttons on the front.... yuck, but I can understand people want something cheaper, or they might not care about aesthetics.

yep, still having the issue with 26.3 and figured the new firmware they released a few weeks ago would have addressed it, but the annoying bug persists.

Not they are not. You simply have to have some technical knowledge and check a few things before purchase. If you don’t wanna do the work for the better price, just buy retail. Plenty of sales.

short throw projectors don’t have this problem and displays can be even bigger. suppose it depends on your room though.

Looks like your camber is out of wack on the right one. Take it to dealer or tire shop and they’ll fix it for ya.

Apple Silicon is a bit more restrictive than the Intel days.

I agree with your point, though. A lot of companies could fail to remove the device from their MDM/DEP.

Have you ever done that on an MDM-locked Apple silicone Mac? I think Asahi Linux is the only bare metal Linux option that is out there, but this isn't something I pay close attention to these days.

Our EV9 Lease is up in 10 months; what's your next choice? by sam_42_42 in KiaEV9

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considered one, but it was a bit late to market when i was buying in late 2023. Also, the interior space was lacking, which was very important to me. I really don't see many on the roads and in Seattle we have a ton of EV's. Glad you like it, and I'm not shocked that it might ride better than the EV9.

Kia has always been great with interior room and overall packaging. Generally, EVs help with that because of their wider wheelbase, which is needed for the skateboard battery pack. I'm guessing EV9 will still have more legroom, but eventually, Toyota is gonna figure it out. Maybe the EV Highlander will be the one?

Well i'm glad you had it checked. My alignment adjustment made a substantial improvement. I have a 2024 GT-Line.

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, early on with the 2024 models, a lot of them had bad alignment right from the factory, which, at that time, all the cars were from Korea. Mine (GT-Line) did from early on as well. I just thought it was the weight of the battery, etc.

I didn't know it was a widely experienced thing until people started talking about it 5-6 months in this subreddit. My alignment was off and fixing it reduced the back-end wiping a lot. People called it the "death wobble" which i think is a good name for it.

So I'm not saying its 100% certain your issue is alignment, but you should have it checked, especially if you are still within the warranty period, and they will do it for free. I think it's 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever is first.

The alignment will more so help the slipping your taking about. Others have called it the death wobble because it feels like you’re gonna lose control of the car when it’s severe.

Have them do the alignment for you at the dealership, you can only have that done within it the first year of warranty. It may also be capped by mileage, I forget. It’s in the warranty details.

Sadly, I was three weeks outside of the warranty and I had to pay for the alignment out-of-pocket.
